The duo isn't divorced yet, and while on Lock Upp 2, Akanksha talked about her and Gaurav's impending divorce, adding that they have been living separately for one year. There has been confusion and speculation about Akanksha and Gaurav, and recently, the former strongly reacted to the buzz about her asking for Rs. 10 crore in alimony from her estranged husband. Just after that, Akanksha reportedly unfollowed Gaurav Khanna and took down all their photos together.
Speaking of Gaurav Khanna, he is still following Akanksha Chamola on social media, and he has photos of hers on his social media as of now. In an interview with Mashable India, Akanksha recently dismissed the buzz about taking a huge alimony from Gaurav. The actress said that if she had that much, she wouldn't be sitting there giving interviews, and she would just leave the country. Speaking about the same, Akanksha Chamola mentioned:
"Agar manga hota aur agar mil gaya hota to main yaha baithti. Agar sach me mere pas itne paise hote na to main kab ka ye desh chor kar chali gayi hoti."
In the same interview, Akanksha talked about changing her surname on social media after her separation from Gaurav, while adding that it didn't happen due to Meta. People trolled the actress and called her a 'sugar daddy seeker' while referring to the fact that she got married to then 34-year-old Gaurav, being 24 herself. To this, Akanksha said that someone 10 years older than her couldn't be tagged as a 'sugar daddy'.
When Akanksha Chamola entered the Bigg Boss 19 house to meet her then-husband and the then-contestant, people loved their banter. The couple has been one of the much-loved couples in the television industry. When their split buzz hit the headlines, they dismissed it; however, there was a conversation going on during that time about the couple's wish to have a child.
Gaurav wanted to be a dad; however, Akanksha was not ready to embrace motherhood. Akanksha had her own reasons behind this, while Gaurav always honoured her wishes. It was said that the imbalance might have caused the cracks between them. Akanksha and Gaurav haven't shared the real reason for their separation; however, the imbalance between their wanting for kids has always been a topic of discussion.
While in Lock Upp 2, Shreya Kalra, the winner, revealed one of Akanksha's secrets. She revealed that Akanksha is bisexual, and this instantly grabbed attention. However, the actress later revealed her side of the story and mentioned that she didn't have any intimate relationship with women, but she has had a few relationships. Akanksha said:
"Growing up, mujhe lagta hai ki it's a very male-dominated world, toh humesha aap mummy, beheno ke taraf jaate ho… kahin na kahin jo comfort zone unse milta hai. I love that feminine energy; I love that comfort and thrive in that. Aisi society mein rehte hain jahan log bolte hain ki ladkiyan dost nahi reh sakti; jealousy hoti hai ya competition hota hai. Mere mein woh sab nahi tha; mere liye all females are beautiful. It's a tag that society has given; for me, it's pure love."
