LeBron James is one of the most renowned NBA players. At present, he has found himself in the spotlight not because of anything to do with the sport, but because of a bizarre security incident. According to reports, a man has been taken into custody for allegedly stalking the NBA star. But things did not stop here; the stalker reportedly made some pretty strange claims.

LeBron James’ alleged stalker claimed that he is the NBA star’s son

Police have arrested a man for stalking after he was allegedly spotted at the Los Angeles property owned by LeBron James. Law enforcement sources who spoke to TMZ revealed that security personnel spotted an unidentified man on surveillance cameras at the property at around 9 p.m. on Friday, November 6, 2026.

After being concerned by the man’s unexpected presence, the security team immediately contacted the police. Following this, officers from the Los Angeles Police Department arrived at LeBron James’s property and took the man into custody. The situation took a strange turn when, while speaking with the cops, the man claimed that he believes he is LeBron’s son. Things did not escalate further as the suspect never entered LeBron’s residence. Police later documented the incident in a stalking report.

For those wondering where LeBron James was at the time of the incident, reports state that the NBA star was not in his LA home when the unidentified man was spotted on his property. In fact, LeBron was in his hometown, Cleveland, Ohio, where he was playing against the Cleveland Cavaliers as part of his NBA schedule. This was the same match where he was slammed for his ‘embarrassing’ performance for the Philadelphia 76ers.

Where was LeBron James at the time of the alleged stalking incident?

According to the Daily Mail, LeBron is no longer living in the Los Angeles mansion where the incident happened after he left the Lakers and opted to head east in free agency. Instead, he is currently living in New York City. He has been commuting to Philadelphia via helicopter in what many believe to be a controversial travel arrangement.

While LeBron lives in New York, his wife, Savannah, and their daughter, Zhuri, continue to remain back at the LA home. In a recent appearance on the Baby, This is Keke Palmer podcast, Savannah explained their family’s decision to stay behind. She said that initially, Zhuri could not figure out how the arrangement was going to work. She wondered if she would be able to see her dad. Savannah said:

“[Zhuri] was trying to figure it out. Like, 'So, am I not going to see him? How is this going to work? 'But we also [told] her, 'So, you can go to school, we can go to New York, we can go to Philly.' And she's actually like, 'Yeah, no.'”

Ultimately, the 12-year-old did not want to leave behind her friends and teammates on her volleyball team. Savannah recalled what her daughter told her and said on the podcast:

“[Zhuri said,] 'I don't want to be away from school for that long. I still want to play with my teammates.’ So, she really was just kind of like, 'Okay, we'll still visit. I'll have my time, but I still get to go and do what I want to do with my friends and my teammates.''

LeBron James himself addressed his decision to leave his family behind in LA for the season. On media day before the new season began, he said that he didn't leave his family behind to lose in the second round. He confidently added, “I know that, for sure. So work needs to be done, and I'm ready to put the work in.”
