There was a time when English singer, Zayn Malik and American model, Gigi Hadid were considered the ‘hottest couple’ in Hollywood. Their love story was nothing short of a fairytale, and both kept it pretty much away from the public eye. The rumours of a brewing romance between the duo started in 2015.
According to reports by Us Weekly, the duo was seeing each other after leaving their past relationships behind. Gigi ended her four-month relationship with Joe Jonas in early November, while Zayn called it quits with his then-fiancee, Perrie Edwards, in August 2015.

In 2016, Zayn and Gigi’s constant PDAs at different events and their posts on social media cleared the air regarding their relationship and the former confirmed their relationship. Since then, the duo was in an on-and-off relationship. In September 2020, the duo announced they were blessed with their daughter, Khai. However, things did not go well between Zayn and Gigi, and they finally parted ways in 2021, when Gigi’s mother, Yolanda, said that Zayn had ‘struck’ her.
Both Zayn and Gigi have been co-parenting their daughter, Khai, since their split, and they remain amicable for the sake of her. In an exclusive interview with MailOnline, Zayn’s mother, Trisha Malik, spoke about the supermodel, Gigi Hadid. She said:
“Gigi only came to Bradford once to visit us when she was with Zayn, and the whole thing was kept very quiet. It felt a bit strange having a supermodel in the house, but she's very down to earth.”
Trisha Malik added that Gigi Hadid is a great girl and felt sorry that Zayn’s relationship with her could not last long. She said:
"She's a great girl, I'm still very fond of her and it's a pity that things didn't work out for them but that's life."
Zayn’s mother revealed that, at present, the 30-year-old singer is not keen on dating someone and is more focused on his music and the apple of his eye, Khai. Trisha said:
“Zayn's energies are focused on being a good dad to Khai and his work, and that's not going to change any time soon. He's a wonderful father, very caring and loving and devotes a lot of time to his daughter. It's what gives him the most pleasure in life.”
Trisha also emphasised the fact that her son, Zayn, is a handsome man, and many women are interested in dating him, but it seems that he has closed the dating arena for a while and plans on devoting his entire time to his lovely daughter and music. She mentioned:
“He's a good-looking lad and a lot of women are interested in him but none of that interests him at the moment. He's not even in the dating game. It's all about Khai and then his work.”
Zayn’s mother’s compliments were not just limited to her son. She even praised the 28-year-old model, Gigi, for being a superb parent to Khai. Trisha further added:
“Gigi and Zayn are co-parenting, and it's working very well. They are both wonderful people and parents."

As Zayn and Gigi gear up to celebrate their daughter, Khai’s 3rd birthday in September, Khai’s grandmother, Trisha Malik cannot keep calm and plans to fly to Los Angeles to celebrate the occasion with them. Trisha said that she has a beautiful relationship with her granddaughter, Khai. She said:
“I Facetime Khai at least two or three times per week, and it's wonderful to have a relationship with her. I'm really looking forward to going to Los Angeles to celebrate her birthday, and it will be lovely to spend some time with my son and granddaughter. I miss them both, but Zayn has his own life now in the US and is enjoying himself as a dad and single man.”
As per the latest reports, Zayn Malik was linked with the Single Soon singer, Selena Gomez, but there was no confirmation of the same. However, his supermodel ex, Gigi Hadid is speculated to be dating the Hollywood legend, Leonardo DiCaprio. But reports available online suggest that the duo, Gigi and Leonardo have a great camaraderie and there’s nothing really romantic between them.
