Witney Carson and Carson McAllister have been married for ten years
Although many details of Carson McAllister’s career remain unknown, he has been a mechanical engineer. He graduated from Utah Valley University in May 2022 after six years of study. Witney publicly celebrated it, calling out the “rigorous work” and the sacrifices he made while supporting her dance career.
He grew up in American Fork, Utah, and attended American Fork High School with Witney. He also served a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Romania. Carson is even active on Instagram with more than 120,000 followers. Outside of work, he’s described as an adventure enthusiast. His Instagram posts show him golfing, wakeboarding, and driving boats.
Witney and McAllister met in high school and continued dating long-distance after graduation. They got engaged in 2015 and married on January 1, 2016, in the Salt Lake City area, with a reception in Lindon, Utah. Several of Witney’s DWTS colleagues were at the wedding.
In December 2017, the couple went through a hard time when Carson’s father was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Reports say Witney skipped DWTS tour dates to be with Carson during that period. Their first son, Kevin Leo, was born on January 3, 2021, and was named in honor of Carson’s father. Their second son, Jet Carson, was born in May 2023.
Carson has appeared with Witney and their kids at public events. On November 13, 2025, the family attended the premiere of Disney’s Zootopia 2 in Los Angeles. They’ve also shared family photos together, including a July 4, 2026 post. In interviews, Witney has said Carson is supportive of her DWTS schedule and that he sacrifices a lot for their family.

As mentioned, Witney Carson is expecting her third child. Notably, she confirmed the news while appearing on Good Morning America on August 17, 2026. During the same conversation, Witney revealed that she plans to compete on the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars throughout her pregnancy.
Witney stated that she planned to participate on the show as long as the baby was healthy and as long as she was doing well. She said it was exciting because she loved being a mother and dancing, she wanted to try doing both altogether.
Carson went on to say that she would actually be the first professional dancer to compete while being that far along in pregnancy. She described it as scary but also exciting. She added that she was hoping that if everything went well and the baby was healthy, it would be a really great experience. During her appearance on GMA, she said she was very excited but would be lying if she said it wasn’t very daunting.
Witney Carson told co-host Michael Strahan that although she did not plan to participate in DWTS, she did it because she wanted to feel empowered. Carson also said she would not shy away from showing her growing bump. After someone suggested covering her stomach with fringe and rhinestones on her DWTS costume, she said she did not want to hide it.
She expressed that she was so proud to be a woman, to be creating life and growing a human, and to be able to do the show and compete while growing that life, which she called a huge blessing.
