KATSEYE fans finally have a major update about Manon Bannerman's future with the group, at least on screen for now. After months of speculation surrounding the 24-year-old singer's hiatus from the global girl group, bandmate Lars Raj has officially confirmed that yes, Manon will very much be a part of the upcoming documentary KATSEYE: WILD HEARTS.

The confirmation comes after months of speculation and theories about Manon's association with the group, during which she remained absent from concerts, promotional events, and public appearances since announcing a break.

KATSEYE confirms Manon Bannerman's presence in their upcoming documentary

During the Los Angeles premiere of KATSEYE: WILD HEARTS, Lara Raj put an end to one of the fans' biggest questions: "Will Manon be in the documentary?" The singer confirmed that she remains an integral part of the group and will definitely be in the movie. Lara said:

"She will forever be such an integral part of the journey of KATSEYE, and of course she’s included in the film. It’s so lovely, and we’re so happy to see it. The fans, I think, will be so excited to see it."

The documentary, directed by Nadia Hallgren, follows the group's rise to global fame through behind-the-scenes footage, personal interviews, and previously unseen moments from their journey since Dream Academy. It is scheduled for a limited theatrical release on August 12, 2026, just two days before KATSEYE releases its new EP, WILD.

Why is Manon on hiatus, and why did it spark concerns?

Manon's hiatus was officially announced in February 2026, when HYBE and Geffen Records revealed that she would temporarily step away from group activities to focus on her health and well-being.

The agencies did not provide a timeline for her return, prompting widespread speculation online. Soon afterward, Manon reassured fans through Weverse that she was "healthy" and "okay," thanking supporters for standing by her. The group also released an official statement that read:

"After open and thoughtful conversations together, we are sharing that Manon will be taking a temporary hiatus from group activities to focus on her health and wellbeing. We fully support this decision. KATSEYE remains committed to showing up for one another and for the fans who mean everything to us...and we look forward to being together again when the time is right."

While Manon's hiatus initially sparked concerns about her health, speculation intensified months later when fans noticed she had removed "KATSEYE" from her Instagram bio and replaced it with "mademoiselle manzanita." The move immediately sparked exit rumors, although neither Manon nor the group's management announced any departure. She later addressed the speculation, writing that she was "happy and healthy" and that she and HYBE Geffen were having "positive conversations."

Despite Manon's continued absence from performances, the remaining members have repeatedly emphasized that she is still part of KATSEYE. In an earlier interview with Allure, leader Sophia Laforteza urged fans not to pressure Manon about her return. Sophia told the publication:

"Because we did announce that [the hiatus] is about her well-being, it's not our place or anybody else's place to rush her. We want to give her all the time that she needs, all the space that she needs… She really deserves that, and the door is always open. We love her, and the fans love her."

The five-member group has been a tight-knit team despite occasional controversies, but Sophia said she understood where fans were coming from. However, she assured that the group continues to support her fully. To quote her words:

"If I was in their place, I would be asking too, and so we understand. But what we can say is that we wish that you could just keep extending love and support and patience and all those things, because all of us deserve that."

Sophia Laforteza herself was unable to attend the August 4, 2026  premiere because she is currently recovering from an illness. The group has assured that there was no other reason behind her absence.

What is KATSEYE: WILD HEARTS about?

KATSEYE: WILD HEARTS offers fans an intimate look at the group's journey from The Debut: Dream Academy to becoming one of pop's fastest-rising global girl groups. The documentary includes exclusive backstage footage, candid interviews with the members, and fan-submitted videos documenting their rise. The film arrives during a major new chapter for KATSEYE as the group prepares to release its third EP, WILD.

Fans will see all six members together again in KATSEYE: WILD HEARTS on August 12, 2026.
