Who Was Gaspi? Argentine YouTuber's Viral Street Interviews Won Millions Before Rio Helicopter Crash

After winning hearts with his heartfelt interviews and impressive content, Argentine YouTuber, Grasper Prim Diaz has passed away. He died in a tragic crash in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, which cut short his life at 23. In fact, the content creator was among the 6 people who lost their lives. For those unaware, the tragic incident took place when two helicopters unexpectedly collided in mid-air on June 14, 2026. While the incident has shocked people across the world, many are curious to learn more about Gaspi, who had a long life ahead of him.

Who was Gaspi? 

Gasper Prim Diaz, better known as Gaspi, was one of the most famous content creators from Latin America. He first rose to fame through his videos, which featured a mix of street interviews, improvisation, absurd humour, and unpredictable interactions. The 23-year-old often went out to interact with strangers. In turn, it often curated humorous situations that went viral in no time. Overall, Gasper had earned a strong presence on social media. Especially, his unique greeting style, "Buenass", became familiar to his fans. 

The content creator's ability to push conversations in unexpected directions made him famous in Argentina. Eventually, Gaspi began participating in major digital events, such as La Velada del Año V, organised by Spanish streamer, Ibai Llanos, which made him popular among Spanish-speaking audiences. At the same time, the event helped him to become more than just a street interviewer. Instead, he highlighted his skill to entertain people on a big platform. 

But despite his signature comedy content, Gaspi openly shared his personal struggles with his followers. In fact, he often discussed the pressures that came with internet fame. At the same time, Gaspi mentioned his self-doubt issues and difficulty in maintaining a public identity. All these things made him more relatable to the audience. 

Who lost their lives in the Rio helicopter crash? 

According to reports, Gaspi was on board one of the helicopters involved in the collision. It also includes American singer and content creator, Oliver Tree. Some other people carrying the same helicopter were Argentine director and screenwriter, Lucas Viganale, Brazilian music producer, Lucas Brito Chaves, and pilot, Alexandre Souza. Meanwhile, the second helicopter only included a pilot identified as Charles Marsillac, who also died in the tragic incident. Overall, the incident has gained spotlight due to the involvement of popular figures from the entertainment and digital content industries.  

More about the fatal helicopter crash in Rio de Janeiro 

The fatal helicopter accident took place on June 14, 2026, in Rio de Janeiro. According to reports, two helicopters reportedly collided in mid-air. Some early reports claimed that one of the aircraft crashed into a parking area with multiple vehicles nearby. In turn, it sparked a massive fire instantly. Although emergency responders arrived quickly, the intensity of the fire made rescue efforts difficult. 

Meanwhile, the Brazilian aviation authorities have started an investigation into the crash. According to officials, the debris is scattered across a large area. Also, the wildfire has made it difficult to determine what went wrong. Still, they are seeking video recordings to better understand the situation.
