Meet Jennifer Finch's ex-husband, Chris Pedersen
Chris Pedersen was born on May 22, 1963, in San Francisco and grew up in Southern California. He is an American musician, actor, and NASCAR racer. From 1980 to 1981, Chris was the lead guitarist and wrote original material with the punk rock band The Dumps in Santa Barbara, CA. In 1981, he briefly played guitar for the punk rock band SIN 34. He was never formally trained as an actor and at the time was the lead singer and guitarist in the band The Patriots.
Chris was approached by director Penelope Spheeris at a park in Burbank. According to Chris, he was unemployed back then. Recalling the moment when Penelope approached him, Chris shared that the director offered him USD 100 a day. That’s how his acting journey began. In his words:
"I was thinking 'yeah, right' and didn't pay any attention to her until she said it paid $100 a day, which at the time was a lot of money. So I showed up for the audition on time and tried really hard not to screw it up. That was the start of my acting career."
Chris appeared in many projects including Twin Peaks: The Missing Pieces, The Stranger, Blindsided, The Hit List, Baywatch, Point Break, Suburbia, Platoon, Night of the Comet and more. He began to distance himself from the film industry in the early 1990s and began focusing on cars and technology. He also competed in weekly NASCAR events at Saugus Speedway 1992–1995 and Irwindale Speedway in 2000.

Jennifer and Chris shared an age gap of 3 years. Not much is known about their dating phase. They got married in 2000. The pair remained together for seven years and parted ways in 2007. "We are shattered by the loss of our beloved bandmate, sister and friend Jennifer Finch, whose fierce spirit, humor and boundless creativity helped shape L7 and changed all of our lives forever. Jennifer was a true original who lived entirely on her own terms, and the impact she made on music, art, and everyone lucky enough to know her cannot be measured. We love her beyond words and will carry her with us always. Rest in power, our dear friend."
Soon after Jennifer’s death came to light, The Grunge Legends also paid their tribute to Jennifer. They wrote:
"The music world has lost another incredible force. Jennifer Precious Finch, bassist and founding member of L7, has passed away. Jennifer was fearless. Unapologetic. Loud. Raw. And completely herself. She helped carve out a place for women in rock who refused to be told how they should look, sound, or exist. Her impact on music was seismic—and her influence reached far beyond the stage. But behind the music was a daughter, sister, partner, and friend who meant the world to the people who loved her. Our hearts and deepest condolences are with Jennifer’s family, friends, bandmates, and everyone lucky enough to know and love her."
