Before marrying James, Debbie worked as a hairstylist in the TV industry. In fact, she spent several years working behind the scenes on major productions. 

Debbie reportedly first met James when they were working on the hit sitcom, Frasier. Eventually, their professional connection developed into a lasting relationship. Although she lived a private life, Debbie often accompanied James to award shows, industry events and charity functions. Friends often shared that they had a supportive and grounded marriage, which lasted for decades.

James Burrows and Debbie built a beloved family. He had three daughters from his first marriage to Linda Solomon. They got married in 1981 and divorced in 1993. What caused James Burrows' death? 

James Burrows passed away peacefully in the presence of his family on June 19, 2026. Eventually, his relatives confirmed the news with a statement. But they have not revealed any official cause for his death. They described him as a creator, mentor and storyteller. James' career spanned more than five decades, and he directed more than 1,000 TV episodes and won multiple Emmy awards. He was the driving force behind some of the iconic shows, like Cheers, which he directed. In fact, he also worked on Friends, Frasier, Taxi, Will and Grace, etc.
