His personal life has often garnered significant attention. Recently, rumors began swirling on the internet that Jack’s friends are allegedly trying to set him up with newly single Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC). In a recent interview, Jack shared his feelings about AOC. Amid this, the focus has shifted to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
Meet Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez
AOC was born on October 13, 1989, in the Bronx, New York. Her father, Sergio Ocasio-Roman, was an architect and small-business owner and was originally from the Bronx, and her mother, Blanca Ocasio-Cortez, was born in Puerto Rico and worked as a domestic worker. When AOC was young, her parents moved her and her brother, Gabriel, out of their Bronx apartment to a small house about 30 minutes away in suburban Yorktown Heights to have access to better educational opportunities.
While she was in school, AOC became interested in politics and science. She won second place in a microbiology category at a major science competition in 2007. After high school, AOC attended Boston University and graduated with degrees in Economics and International Relations. Her dad suddenly died while she was in college. His medical expenses caused serious financial difficulties for the family.
AOC’s mother worked extra jobs, including as a school bus driver, to help run their home. Later, AOC worked as an intern in Senator Ted Kennedy’s office, where she helped Spanish-speaking people dealing with immigration issues. After college, she worked as an educator, community organizer, waitress and bartender. In 2018, she began her political journey with Congress. She challenged Joe Crowley, a powerful Democratic politician who had been in Congress for 10 years.
At the time, Joe had much more money and political support, while AOC's campaign was largely run by volunteers and grassroots activists. Despite being an underdog, she defeated Joe in the Democratic primary. Later, she won the general election and became the youngest woman and youngest Latina elected to Congress at that time. Recently, she has grabbed a lot of attention as she got candid about freezing her eggs. Taking to her social media handle, Joe shared her egg-freezing journey. She said:
"For me, one of the trade-offs that I have made is that I don’t own a house. I saved up to preserve my fertility. And I am lucky to even have been able to do that. For some people and for a lot of places, it can be USD 15,000 to pursue something like this all in. And you have to ask yourself: is it worth it? And that is not the same answer for every person, especially since this is not a guarantee. It also depends on your body. Financially, this is a huge deal."
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Jack Schlossberg connection explained
In a recent report, The New York Post stated that Jack Schlossberg’s friends are trying to set him up with Democratic congresswoman AOC. Recently, Jack lost his attempt to win a congressional nomination, receiving only about 10 per cent of the vote. His friends reportedly believe that he has been feeling upset about the loss. So their idea to set up both AOC and Jack is partly romantic, but they reportedly think meeting AOC could potentially help Jack find a political opportunity or job in her New York office. Now, Jack has reacted to the following and shared his feelings about AOC. He said:
"I respect her a lot — she can do way better than me!"
