In February 2022, in a heart-to-heart conversation with Ranveer Allahbadia, Jersey actress, Mrunal Thakur opened up about love and shared her take on relationships. The actress admitted that she was dating a guy but they had broken up around August 2021. When the talk show's host, Ranveer asked the actress to throw some light on the issues that led to their breakup, Mrunal revealed that the fact she is an actress was the prime reason behind it. The gorgeous diva had explained that her ex-beau was uncomfortable with her profession and also had complaints about her impulsive nature. Reflecting on the same and calling him an orthodox person, Mrunal had said:
"He ran away. He was like, 'You are too impulsive, I can't deal with this', 'You're an actress, I can't deal with this.' But I understand where he is coming from - a very orthodox background. And I don't blame him, I think it's his upbringing. In a way, it's good that the chapter ended. Because in the future, when we raise our kids, his upbringing would not be the same as my upbringing towards my kids… The kids would be like, 'Uh, kya ho raha hai."
In the same interview, Mrunal Thakur also shared that before stepping into a relationship, an individual needs to understand what they expect from a relationship. The actress had also highlighted the importance of making yourself a priority while being in a relationship. However, she also added that after she entered a relationship with her ex-boyfriend, it was only then she realised that they had huge compatibility issues. Reflecting on the same, she had added:
"In order to be with the right one, you have to be with the wrong ones first. You need to know what works for you and what doesn't work. I don't want to get into a relationship aur uske baad mujhe pata chale humare beech mein compatibility hi nahi hai."

As of August 2022, reports are rife on the internet that Mrunal Thakur is now in a serious relationship with her Kumkum Bhagya's co-star, Arjit Taneja. Yes, you read that right! The alleged couple had worked together in Kumkum Bhagya, and since those days, they have been friends. However, it seems like the close friends have started feeling something for one another, as they're reportedly dating each other. According to a Peepingmoon.com report, a source has stated that the couple has been seeing each other for some time now. The source further added that the duo is still not ready to make an official announcement, and that is the reason behind their hush-hush romance.
