Twisha Sharma reportedly died by suicide on May 12, 2026, at her matrimonial home in Bhopal. Her mother-in-law, Giribala Singh, a retired judge, along with Twisha's husband, Samarth Singh, are in the police custody till June 2, 2026. Now, according to the latest update, Twisha was reportedly judged by her in-laws due to her modelling career. Twisha Sharma's brother, Major Harshit Sharma and sister-in-law, Dr Rashi Abrol, spoke about her constantly being judged.
Twisha Sharma's brother, Major Harshit Sharma and sister-in-law Dr. Rashi Abrol, sat down for an interview with Barkha Dutt. They revealed that Twisha faced constant judgment after her marriage. The duo claimed that, despite Giribala being educated, influential and having a professional stature, Twisha was repeatedly scrutinised for being "too liberal", questioned about her past relationships, subjected to comments about her mental health, and made to feel that her modelling career reflected poorly on her character.

Twisha reportedly was controlled and diminished by her in-laws. The investigation into her untimely demise continues, but questions on Giribala have been raised. Twisha was subjected to reported prejudice as Giribala lived behind the facade of privilege, power and accomplishment. Twisha's sister-in-law, Dr Rashi, was asked in the interview by Barkha Dutt that as a woman, she had to hear some really terrible things said about another woman, in this case, her sister-in-law, Twisha. From conversations related to Twisha's morality, a private audio tape is being released where Giribala Singh is saying absolutely god-awful things. The mother-in-law has character-assassinated Twisha. When Rashi was asked if her blood boiled, she said of feeling sick. In her words:
"Ma'am, it sickens me. It sickens me to see a woman, uh, with qualifications like hers, as Mrs Giribala's, uh, the sophistication that she carries and the way she goes about, um… It sickens me, ma'am, that women of her qualification are still around us, still speaking and thinking like that. In fact, I've also had, I mean, not everybody, but I've had the chance, uh, unfortunate chance to also listen to her sister."

Twisha Sharma's sister-in-law further shared that she is very fortunate, as are others, and that there are plenty who are not as fortunate as she is. She said of having parents, in-laws, and a family where they do not have to worry about things and about such things. But the fact that there are women like Mrs. Giribala Singh and her sister, it's horrific. Twisha Sharma's sister-in-law then shared that she has so many degrees and asked what the point of her thought process, statements, and judgments was. Twisha Sharma's sister-in-law also shared that it was sickening to see and hear. In her words:
"It it it's not even anything that I'm shocked about because there are plenty other women like her still living. But the fact that she's a judge, she still, uh, continues to be in that position. She still continues to go about her chores and her work. And the fact that she carries such a mentality, I cannot speak much more. But the fact that it's absolutely horrific and disgusting, ma'am."

Twisha's brother, Major Harshit Sharma, added that Twisha's husband and mother-in-law have just been progressive on paper, but regressive in nature. For the unversed now, the Madhya Pradesh court has quashed the anticipatory bail granted to Giribala. She and her son, Samarth, are in the CBI remand till June 2, 2026.
