Twisha Sharma's Friend Claims She Wasn't Allowed To Meet Samarth On Her Birthday By MIL, 'Was Upset'

Twisha Sharma was a cheerful and loud girl who reportedly died by suicide on May 12, 2026, at her matrimonial home in Bhopal. Her husband, Samarth Singh and mother-in-law, Giribala Singh, are in the custody on charges of dowry and mental harassment. Now, a shocking new claim has come in the Twisha Sharma case, where her friend revealed that Twisha's mom-in-law did not allow her to meet Samarth Singh on her birthday.

Twisha Sharma's close friend, Komal Khayani, in the interview with Mojo Story, revealed that Twisha wanted to meet Samarth on her birthday. This was after their roka ceremony and right before their wedding. However, Samarth's mom, Giribala, the former judge, did not allow the meeting to happen between Twisha, Samarth and said that, "Humare ghar mein shaadi se pehle ladka-ladki nahin milte."

Twisha Sharma's close friend, Komal Khayani, sat down for an interview with Barkha Dutt. She was asked about how Twisha's behaviour had changed around April 2026. From being a talkative person, she became abrupt and a little tense. Twisha Sharma's close friend, Komal Khayani, along with their other friends, had little to no sense of what was actually going on.

Twisha Sharma's close friend further revealed in the interview that they knew that her mother-in-law, Giribala, was dominating from the start. Twisha's friends understood this because she had a conversation with Komal in which she said that after her marriage, she (Twisha) and Samarth were planning to move to Delhi. Twisha's friend shared:

"So she was like, I'm not gonna be living in the same house, so we'll probably shift to Delhi or, uh, if he gets like another good opportunity, we'll be somewhere else. But we won't be staying with his family. So I was sort of okay with it."

Twisha Sharma's friend, further in the interview, revealed seeing her friend really upset around her birthday. This was because Giribala had just told them that they cannot meet each other before the wedding, and this was after the Roka was done already. Twisha's friend, Komal, revealed getting a cultural shock, and they both were engaged.

Twisha's friend, Komal, shared that Girbala had said that boys and girls in their family do not meet before marriage. She was having those kinds of conversations. Twisha's friend, Komal, did share that the former model was very upset as she was all set to meet the love of her life, Samarth, on her birthday. In her words:

"So she was upset. She's like, Oh, it's my first birthday, uh, after, you know, we've been engaged, and I really wanted to meet him and spend my birthday with him."

Netizens express grief and are upset that Twisha Sharma could not take a stand for herself

Twisha's friend, Komal, had shared one of the several instances that reflected an attempt by Giribala to control Twisha. An angry user had penned, "Maybe it's time to ask her, if it's ok for the elders of the house to go to jail. When there were so many red flags, she should have stepped back...when they asked for 10 lakh, they should have stepped back...when she was asking her parents to take her, they should have stepped forward." A part of the comment also read:

"When she was called randi by her husband she should have left quietly....the social pressure "log kiya kahain ge" took a life. Whatever the situation or the drama surrounding it, the fact remains that this woman was reportedly severely tormented emotionally within that family by both her husband and mother-in-law. No emotionally stable person suddenly decides to end their life when they are consistently treated with love, care, and respect."
