Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma, fondly called as Virushka by their fans, have always redefined the love and set major relationship goals, fitness goals, marriage goals, and whatnot! From Virat adorably thanking and crediting his wife on national television to Anushka enthusiastically watching cricket because of her association with Virat, Virushka has hit the boundary time and again with their love.
Indian cricket team captain, Virat Kohli was awarded the Best International Cricketer at the annual BCCI Awards in Bengaluru on June 12, 2018. Virat was honoured with the Polly Umrigar Award (Best International Cricketer). The tweet further stated, “The Skipper also receives the Polly Umrigar Award for his stupendous performances in the 2017-18 season too.” On June 12, 2018 morning, Virat and Anushka were spotted at the Mumbai airport, en route to Bengaluru for the annual award ceremony. Anushka looked ravishing in a black outfit with ruffled collar and to accentuate her look, she opted for wavy hair and nude make-up. And Virat kept it classy with a formal black suit.
After receiving the award, Virat gave his winning speech on-stage and said that it became more special since it had been given to him in the presence of his wife. Virat remarked, “My wife’s here today, so it’s more special. The Awards didn’t happen last year, but I am glad they didn’t, as she is here today.” Check out the video:
On June 13, 2018, Virat and Anushka came back to the city and what caught our attention is that Anushka repeated her airport outfit. While en route to Bengaluru and on her way back in the city, Anushka sported checked high-waisted trousers which she paired with a white t-shirt and a denim biker jacket. Making it relatable to all the girls out there, Anushka even wore the same sneakers, hence making her comfortable yet chic look perfect.
Post India's series win against South Africa, Virat credited his wife for keeping him inspired and motivated. Virat was quoted as saying, “My wife has been keeping me motivated throughout, she deserves a lot of credit for this. In Gaurav Kapur’s YouTube show, Breakfast with Champions, Virat Kohli opened up about how his life changed after meeting Anushka. Virat shared “Lady luck ka kamaal hai. You have seen me, you know I had no sense before. Ever since the lady has come into my life, she’s taught me a lot of things. I’ve learnt a lot, become more sensible in the last 4 years all because of her. She’s taught me how to be more patient and taught me how to utilise the position I am in to the fullest. At that time too, I never tried to be anyone else. I never tried to tell myself that I should be reading books etc… those are gradual things. If you like it, you like it. So, luckily I never tried to change myself. But the flip has been because of her.”
When asked why he didn’t hide his relationship with Anushka, Cheeku revealed, “In England in 2014, Anushka was there in my life, she understood what I was going through so she kept me motivated. Her support helped me push through, however bad it was for me. She was a constant in that time. Then Australia happened and I ended up scoring runs, in her presence. So it was a special thing for both of us because she had also faced so much flak. We were being criticised and people were saying this is what happens when you allow girlfriends on the tour. So I said if you are not okay with it, I can’t be in a relationship? In an interview recently, when Virat was asked who the captain off-field is, he answered, “She (Anushka Sharma) is, of course, she takes all the right decisions in life. She is totally my strength and she keeps me positive all the time and that's what you want with your life partner so I'm very grateful.” He further added, “She is very passionate about the game. She understands the game and she can understand the sentiments of all the players, what they go through and stuff, which I think is the most beautiful thing”.
Just like Anushka Sharma blows the audience off with her performance on-screen and Virat Kohli blows the spectators off with his on-field performance, they together blow their fans off with their much-endearing Virushka moments.
