Vijay Thalapathy Offers Rs. 250 Crore Alimony To Wife Sangeetha For Out Of Court Divorce Settlement?

Vijay Thalapathy's wife, Sangeetha Sornalingam, left many in shock when she filed for divorce from her husband after 27 years of marriage. However, the most shocking news was that Sangeetha was seeking a divorce on the grounds of her husband, Vijay Thalapathy's extramarital affair with an actress. To protect another woman's privacy, the name wasn't mentioned in her divorce petition. Now, reports claim that Vijay Thalapathy wants to settle the case.

Vijay Thalapathy offered Rs. 250 crore alimony to his estranged wife, Sangeetha 

As per a recent report by Tamil Filmibeat, Vijay Thalapathy is keen on settling the matter in court. The actor-turned-politician doesn't want to drag the matter with his estranged wife, Sangeetha. He has initiated multiple discussions over the same with her, and if reports are to be believed, he has proposed an alimony of Rs. 250 crore to his wife.

The whopping settlement amount is for Sangeetha and their two children, Jason Sanjay and Divya Saasha. However, the distribution of the amount is not yet revealed. The report further stated that the divorce plea will be withdrawn if both parties reach a mutual agreement. Vijay wants to protect the dignity of his family and keep the matter private. 

Vijay Thalapathy's wife, Sangeetha, claimed in her petition that her husband kept travelling abroad with the actress

As per the copy of Sangeetha's divorce petition, Vijay Thalapaty kept travelling abroad with the actress with whom he had an extramarital affair. Not only this, her petition further mentions that the said actress continued to share pictures from their outing on her social media handle. She added that it caused immense distress to her and her children. She said:

"The respondent continued travelling abroad and attend public events with the said actress. The actress regularly posted photographs of these outings on social media. The respondent neither denied nor objected to these posts, thereby tacitly endorsing them. These posts widely circulated, causing repeated humiliation to the petitioner and the children."

In the petition, Sangeetha further claimed that Vijay Thalapathy kept his association going with the said actress, which caused Sangeetha emotional agony and embarrassment to the children among their friends, social circle and social media. Well, after this big claim surfaced, netizens found out that Trisha Krishnan and Vijay Thalapathy were on vacation in Norway. The two were spotted at the airport.

Coming back to Thalapathy Vijay's wife, Sangeetha's reason for filing for divorce after 27 years of marriage is his infidelity. In the plea, she cited the reason as his extramarital affair with an actress, which has strained their relationship with his wife, and she now wants a divorce. As per the court documents, his wife discovered Vijay's infidelity in 2021, but despite repeated assurances from him, he continued the illicit relationship. This has caused a rift in his family.

For the unversed, Vijay met Sangeetha for the first time in 1996. She was a Sri Lankan Hindu who was brought up in Britain. Sangeetha was Vijay's big fan, and she left her home in the UK to meet her idol in Chennai. The meeting changed everything for Vijay and Sangeetha. The relationship which was of a fan and a star, turned into something significant. Despite their religious differences, the two got married under the Special Marriage Act in 1998.
