Veteran Filmmaker, Sawan Kumar Tak Passes Away At The Age Of 86, Salman Khan Mourns His Loss

The veteran Bollywood filmmaker, Sawan Kumar Tak passed away, shocking the netizens and the film industry. The filmmaker took his last breath at the age of 86. Ever since the news of his demise came out, Bollywood has been mourning the loss of a legendary filmmaker who has contributed a lot to the film industry.

As soon as the news of his demise surfaced, everyone started pouring their heart out and paying respects in their own way. On August 26, 2022, Salman Khan took to his Instagram handle and mourned the death of Sawan Kumar Tak. Sharing a picture of himself with the late Sawan Kumar Tak, Salman Khan shared that he has always loved the filmmaker. His post can be read as:

"May u rest in peace my dear Sawaan ji. Have always loved n respected u."

On August 25, 2022, Sawan Kumar Tak took his last breath. As per a report by PTI, the late filmmaker took his last breath at 4:15 pm on Thursday at Mumbai hospital. Reportedly, Sawan Kumar Tak's condition was not stable and so he was admitted to the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani hospital on August 24, 2022. The director was being treated for breathing issues and lung infections. Meanwhile, Sawan Kumar Tak's nephew and Punjabi filmmaker, Navin told PTI that he died due to heart failure. He said:

"He passed away at 4:15 pm due to heart failure. His heart had stopped functioning."

In another conversation with the Indian Express, Navin informed that his last rites would take place on August 26, 2022. In his words:

"Sawan ji suffered a heart attack at around 4:15 pm today. He died of multiple organ failure. The funeral will be held tomorrow at Pawan Hans Crematorium."

Earlier, on August 25, 2022, Sawan Kumar Tak's nephew, Navin had, shared that he has several heart ailments. In his words:

"He has several health ailments. He is critical. We got him admitted to Kokilaben Ambani hospital yesterday, and he is in the ICU. His lungs are weak too because of old age. Doctors are treating him, but he is not responding much and is not recovering properly. So we are all praying for him."

Legendary actress, Padmini Kolhapure also paid respects to the late filmmaker on her social media. The Souten actress took to her Instagram handle and shared a picture of Sawan Kumar Tak with herself. Sharing the picture, Padmini Kolhapure shared few lines of her song, Zindagi Gham ka Saagar Bhi Hai from the film, Souten. Her post can be read as: 

"Zindagi Gham ka sagar bhi hai...Hans ke uspaar jaana padega....Sawan Kumar Tak aaj zindagi numa saagar ko paar karke uspaar chaley gaye."

For the unversed, Sawan Kumar Tak started his career as a producer in the 1967 film, Naunihal. Later, he made his directional debut in 1972 with legendary late actress, Meena Kumari's last film, Gomati Ke Kinare. However, Sawan Kumar Tak's one of the most memorable films was, Souten, which featured actors like Padmini Kolhapure, Tina Munim, and Rajesh Khanna.
