He was born in 1937 in a Baptist family. When he was just 11 years old, he moved to Maryland, the place where he learned guitar. Vernon was passionate about music, and proof of that was that he formed his band, The Nighthawks, at the mere age of 15 with two classmates.
It was in 1959 that he left his music career behind and focused on his family and business ventures. 30 years later, in 1989, Vernon moved back to the world of his passion, music. However, it was recently revealed that the rockabilly artist passed away, which left his fans heartbroken. Fans of Vernon from all over the world have been sharing their condolences, and amid this, the cause of his death was revealed.
Vernon Taylor's cause of death and his personal life
If the reports are to be believed, Vernon Taylor had been suffering from dementia. For the unversed, dementia is a serious and progressive medical condition that impairs memory, thinking, and social abilities. As per the data in the public domain, dementia is caused by underlying brain issues. It's not clear since when Vernon Taylor has been dealing with this health battle.
However, it has been recently revealed that, allegedly, dementia was the reason for Vernon Taylor's death. A report by Suggest recently revealed that this dementia was the reason for Vernon Taylor's brother, Luthar Taylor, as well. Reportedly, Luthar passed away only a year back after his long battle with dementia. While nothing much about his personal life is known, Vernon was married to someone named Brenda for 57 years, as reported. The couple reportedly has three children: two sons, Timothy and Thomas, and a daughter, Jennifer Bolin.

Vernon Taylor grew up listening to hillybilly music, and at just 11, he started learning his first musical instrument. After he formed his own band, The Nighthawks, with his two schoolmates, they got a great opportunity. During the time when they were still in high school, Curley Smith performed in their town. It led Vernon Taylor to approach Smith and ask him if his band could perform in between the sets. Smith was so impressed with The Nighthawks that he reportedly fired his own band and hired Vernon's The Nighthawks, which turned out to be a big break for him.
Following this, Vernon bagged a gig in Arkansas, and his band started to decline. In 1957, he got a spot on the Saturday night television show, which he had done for the next three years. He then signed a contract with Dot Records and performed on American Bandstand, as well as on regional television broadcasts. In 1958, he signed another contract with Sun Records and released a few singles. Even after his hard work and dedication, Vernon failed to deliver a hit, which led him to retire eventually. He made a comeback decades later when he was asked to play at a benefit concert for Charlie Feathers.
