Varun Dhawan Won't Reveal His 1-Year-Old Daughter, Lara's Face On Social Media, Here's Why

Varun Dhawan and his one-year-old daughter, Lara, are currently hogging the limelight for all things personal. Varun and his wife, Natasha Dalal, welcomed their little princess, Lara, in June 2024. While the Student of the Year actor revealed his baby girl’s name on the popular show, Kaun Banega Crorepati, hosted by Bollywood superstar, Amitabh Bachchan, he has not yet revealed her face on social media. Following this, during a recent AMA session, Varun explained the reason behind it.

During a recent Ask Me Anything session on X (formerly Twitter), Varun Dhawan was asked if he had a plan to introduce his little daughter, Lara, to the social media world. Responding to the question, the Badrinath Ki Dulhania actor shared that he would leave the decision of getting featured on social media to his daughter, Lara. He said, "I would rather leave that decision with her. Social media should be her choice, not something I want to decide for her."

When Varun Dhawan opened up about fatherhood and how things changed after Lara's arrival

In a 2025 interview with ETimes, Varun shared that he is still figuring out how responsible he needs to be for his child. He highlighted that the phase he is going through is a common thing for all men who embraced fatherhood. He then credited his wife, Natasha, for taking care of their baby. After 3 years of marital bliss, Varun and Natasha embraced parenthood. For the uninitiated, Varun tied the knot with Natasha on January 24, 2021, at Alibaug’s The Mansion House. Varun was quoted as saying:

"I'm still figuring it out. Like how responsible I have to be, or how much of a kid I can still be or can be... I think men tend to go through this. Right now, Natasha is doing everything; I have to give her credit. The woman does practically everything initially, the man then comes in and becomes useful."

Further in the interview, Varun mentioned that he is enjoying playing with his little princess, Lara. He shared that being a dad is 'fun'. Varun added that he is trying to be a 'better dad.' He was quoted as saying:

"I'm just enjoying playing with her. Being a dad is a lot of fun right now, and every day I'm trying to be a better dad... I don't think I'm there yet. I do watch TV at a really low volume now, else my wife will throw me out of the house."

Varun Dhawan and Natasha Dalal were childhood friends. Once in an episode of Koffee with Karan, Varun opened up about his love story. He mentioned that they were in school together. Back then, they were friends and weren’t dating. He highlighted that although they didn’t date at the time, since day one, Natasha had been supportive of his dreams. He shared that he, too, supported Natasha and stood by her side as she achieved her dreams. He added that as a couple, they had evolved together. He was quoted as saying:

"Because I have known her, we were in school together. We were just friends; we weren’t dating then. But since day one, she has been supportive of my dreams, and it has to be the same. It has to be equal from my side. From my side, I have to be supportive of her dreams also, or what she wants to achieve, or what she likes. Eventually, I think as a couple you want to evolve together."
