The biggest reality show of Indian television is all set to return with a bang. However, this year, the makers have added a new twist in the tale and have decided to launch Bigg Boss on an OTT platform, which will exclusively stream on VOOT Select. Since the announcement of the beginning of the show, fans were eager to know the names of the contestants and now the makers have made the name of the first contestant official.
The first contestant to enter the Bigg Boss house this year is none other than the Jag Ghoomeya singer, Neha Bhasin. Neha is quite a popular name in the industry due to her professional success. However, a lot of you might not be aware of her personal life, her past, her journey to showbiz among other interesting facts.

During her college days at Lady Sri Ram in Delhi, Neha Bhasin had auditioned for the show, Coke [V] Popstars in the year 2002. During her stint with the show, she had formed India's first all-girls band, Viva. And the Punjabi singer had won the show along with her girls at an age of 18. However, the band could not grow together for much longer after the show and it broke after two years of its formation. Later on, Neha Bhasin went on to try her luck in Bollywood and the South film industry.
Born on November 18, 1982, Neha Bhasin had won an award in singing at an age of 9. However, the singing sensation had shot to fame with her Bollywood playback debut through the song, Kuch Khaas Hai from the movie, Fashion. The film had starred Priyanka Chopra, Kangana Ranaut and Mughdha Godse in lead roles. She had also got a lot of recognition from the Tamil film industry and had won many awards.
During an episode of Indian Pro Music League, Neha Bhasin had stated her experience of being asked to get down from the stage for wearing shorts while performing. Further stating her early life incidents, the singer had shared that she had been trying to sing for more than two decades but it was after facing a lot of rejections that she could make her name in Bollywood.
Sharing the snippet of the episode on her IG handle, Neha Bhasin had penned an emotional note and had shared her experience of rejection. Alongside the video, she had written:
Am very emotional right now @rekha.bhasin.7 Ma finally apki beti ko love and acceptance mil rahi hai for the WHOLE OF Me. The depth of my happiness right now is healing 20 years of seeking and wanting and being rejected.
Going further in the post, Neha also thanked Zee TV for not judging a woman by the length of her clothes. She had added in the caption:

The length of a woman's dreams cannot be measured by her clothes, her body, forced pretentious morality. Her dreams are pure and seamless like the deep blue sky. Neha Bhasin had once shared her horrendous experience of being sexually assaulted by Anu Malik when she was new to the industry and was just 21 years old. In her series of posts on Twitter, she had accused Anu Malik of sexual harassment and also termed him as a predator.
Though the Tweet has been removed now, it had read as:
We do live in a very sexist world. Anu Malik is a predator, I too have run away from his strange moves when I was 21. I didn't let myself get into a sticky situation beyond him lying on a sofa in front of me talking about my eyes in a studio. I fled lying my mum's waiting below. He even messaged and called me after that to which I stopped responding.

Neha Bhasin had walked down the aisle with music composer, Sameer Uddin in a hush-hush wedding ceremony at Tuscany, Italy in 2017. Neha had broken the news of her secret wedding to beau, Sameer Uddin and had shared the pictures from her wedding on her social media handles. She had captioned the post as, "Dear Nbees I am so thrilled to tell you I married my best friend and the love of my life on 23rd oct in Tuscany."
In an interview with the IANS, Neha Bhasin had shared that she knew her husband, Sameer since they were teenagers. However, they had never connected back then. Music had brought them together after some years and they had become good friends.
