Twisha Sharma's cousin sister levied bombshell allegations against her husband, Samarth Singh, claiming he was responsible for her abortion.
The mysterious passing of model and actress, Twisha Sharma has generated immense buzz. The 33-year-old Noida-based woman was found deceased on May 12, 2026, in her marital home in Bhopal's Katara Hills. The reason for her death was reported as suicide, but was contested by the bereaved family. They alleged that severe dowry harassment, physical and mental torment by Twisha's husband, Samarth Singh and her in-laws pushed her to take the extreme step. As the Sharmas and Singhs take the dispute to court, Twisha's cousin sister made some explosive allegations against Samarth's alleged ill-treatment towards Twisha.
In a May 2026 chat with Barkha Dutt's Mojo Story, Twisha Sharma's cousin sister made some bold remarks about Samarth Singh and his family. The cousin claimed that her in-laws pressured her to get pregnant. Even when Twisha visited the hospital (the reason for her visit unclear), she quoted her in-laws and told her family that they had asked her to return to Bhopal as soon as possible. They called her back because, allegedly, according to them, spending time with her husband and getting pregnant was more important than taking care of her father, who might not have been at his best of health at that time. The cousin stated:
"Pregnancy pressure was really high. In the hospital, she quoted, 'You need to come back. When are you going to get pregnant if you stay with your father and take care of him?'"
Twisha Sharma's cousin then recounted what happened when the model returned to her in-laws' house and learned she was expecting. According to the cousin, the moment Twisha returned, she was shocked at Samarth Singh's changed behaviour. He was "repulsive" towards her due to the effect of his drug abuse and other issues. That was the alleged reason for Twisha deciding to opt for an abortion. As per her cousin, she took a "very calculative decision" to get an abortion as she didn't want her baby to suffer amid the Singhs. The cousin's exact words were:
"The moment Twisha came back and she saw the repulsive behaviour of her husband after drug abuse and all of that she clearly decided that this child should not come into the world and she didn't want to inflict the same trauma on her child and this is something I've been quoting in every media house, 'My sister took a very very calculative decision to terminate this pregnancy and this hurt the ego of the matriarch of the family."
Samarth revealed that he wanted to be a father, but his wife didn't want kids. He even alleged that Twisha's mental health deteriorated when she found out that she was pregnant. He claimed that at that time, her behaviour shifted abruptly, which caused her emotional distress and even led to bipolar disorder, as per NDTV. Samarth further stated that a doctor diagnosed Twisha with an "adjustment disorder" and allegedly revealed that it was the reason for her major mood swings linked to her pregnancy.
The pregnancy-related stress allegedly led to her cancelling a trip to Bangalore with her husband. Samarth claimed that she instead insisted on going to Ajmer to see her brother, Major Harshit Sharma. The change of mind allegedly occurred a week before the trip was supposed to take place. The plan was cancelled because she learned on April 17, 2026, that she was pregnant and decided right away to return home.
Twisha ultimately could not go to Ajmer to see her brother as she was found dead on May 12, 2026, just three days before the planned trip. That allegedly led to a major argument between the couple. Her family alleged that Samarth and her mother-in-law, Giribala Singh refused to let her go to see her brother, leading to mental torment for Twisha. Tragically, even after all the fights, she ultimately could not go to Ajmer to see her brother as she was found dead on May 12, 2026, just three days before the planned trip.
