It was on August 13, 2026 (ET) when a jury was successfully selected for the trial of the 1996 murder case. However, even with the hearing right around the corner, a report by TMZ has revealed that Davis is not even the slightest bit nervous about going to state prison for life if he's convicted.
Sources with direct knowledge regarding Tupac Shakur's murder case spoke with the news outlet and revealed that Keefe D's trial began with the jury trial on Monday, August 10, 2026 (ET), after he pleaded not guilty to the 1996 murder. Prosecutors have alleged that Duane "Keefe D" Davis plotted the murder in Vegas and produced the gun used to assassinate the rapper. However, someone else fired the kill shot.
For the unversed, Duane "Keefe D" Davis was arrested for the murder of American rapper Tupac Shakur in 2023. His arrest came after years of bragging about his alleged involvement during media interviews and under police questioning, where he had immunity. However, although he has now been arrested, he is still not too bothered by the potential consequences.
Following his arrest, Duane "Keefe D" Davis was transferred to the Clark County Detention Center, where he has been locked up ever since, awaiting trial. The news outlet reported that, according to a source, Keefe is not scared of prison because he's been in and out of the slammer over the years. While he still doesn't want to spend the rest of his days there, he allegedly is not as nervous about the trial as one would think.

Additionally, the source believes that being known as Tupac's killer might not work in his favor either. On the other hand, Duane "Keefe D" Davis' family and loved ones have alleged that he only got into this mess because he couldn't shut his mouth, calling him an "exaggerator" and a "bullsh---er." For the uninitiated, if the charges against Davis are proven, he might face a very harsh sentence. Meanwhile, the source says Keefe believes he has a path to freedom because the prosecution's case is full of holes.
