Bollywood actor, Sanjay Dutt tied the knot with an aspiring actress, Richa Sharma, in 1987, and after two years of marital bliss, the couple welcomed a daughter, Trishala, in 1989. However, Richa was diagnosed with a brain tumour, so she moved to New York for her treatment, but she died in 1996. After her mother's demise, Trishala Dutt grew up in the US with her maternal grandparents, whereas, Sanjay got married to his third wife, Maanayata Dutt.
On March 12, 2024, taking to her IG stories, Trishala Dutt shared a cryptic post which talks about the perks of having an absent parent in one's life. The post mentioned that such a situation was a blessing in disguise because the demons of the absent parent can inflict more pain than the hurt experienced due to their absence. Trishala'a note can be read as:
"Sometimes an absent parent is a blessing in disguise. Because the demons they carry can inflict more pain than their absence ever could. It's not fair and it's not right, but you'll be okay."

As soon as the post was shared on Reddit, many netizens flooded the comment section with their reactions. A user commented, "Great way to convey her feeling. Sanju was a really irresponsible garbage and ruined many lives along the way starting with his parents." Another penned, "Trisha was really unfortunate. Se lost her mother tragically young and her Dad was busy screwing other women while her mom lay on death bed." A third netizen wrote, "People like sanju alwys are shellfish n only care abt thmselves..life long Baba..the parents are eqyally to blame..god bless them."
Despite living in different countries, Sanjay Dutt and his daughter, Trishala share a cordial bond with one another. Not only to her doting daddy, but Trishala is also close to her stepmom, Maanayata. On July 29, 2022, when Sanjay Dutt turned a year older, he got the sweetest wish from his daughter, Trishala Dutt. Taking to her IG handle, she posted two pictures to wish her 'Lion King'. Her note could be read as:
“Happy Birthday my lion king @duttsanjay @ keep shining for me keep shining for us all. I love you so very much Papa.”

Trishala Dutt is quite active on social media and often interacts with people and educates them on mental health. During an ‘Ask me Anything’ session, when one of the users asked her, “How do you feel being Sanjay Dutt’s daughter?” Trishala replied:
“Honestly, it feels normal. He's like any other father. When I'm with him, it feels like I'm with my dad. It doesn't feel any different than what you probably feel when you are with your father.”
