Trace Adkins and Victoria Pratt have been married for seven years
Trace Adkins and Victoria Pratt’s love story dates back to 2013 when they met on the set of the film, The Virginian. Notably, the duo kept the romance away from the spotlight while they dated for six years and eventually tied the knot in 2019.
When they first worked together in The Virginian, Adkins played a ranch enforcer, and Pratt played the town’s new schoolteacher. Reports state that an immediate connection formed, and their friendship eventually grew into a romantic relationship.
Over the next several years, they supported each other’s careers and were often seen together at events, including the premiere of Adkins’ film, Bennett’s War, in 2018. They later worked together again on the project, titled Among Wolves. Pratt has frequently spoken about his and Victoria's shared interests like travel, the outdoors, and healthy living.
The pair exchanged vows in New Orleans, Louisiana, and the wedding was officiated by country star Blake Shelton. This was Adkins’ fourth marriage and Pratt’s second. Pratt was previously married to director and photographer T. J. Scott from 2000 to 2016.
Apart from being an actress, Victoria has been a fitness model and author. She graduated from York University in Toronto and later worked with NHL athletes at the Human Performance Lab. She entered the entertainment industry during the mid-1990s and became known for appearing in sci-fi and fantasy shows, including Xena: Warrior Princess, Cleopatra 2525, and Mutant X.
She is also known for her performances in films like House of the Dead 2, The Last Heist, and Lazer Team 2. Talking about Victoria’s other achievements, Pratt was named Oxygen Magazine’s Cover Girl in 2011. She also holds a blue belt in Shotokan karate.
Trace Adkins was shot by one of his former lovers years ago
As mentioned, Victoria Pratt is not the first wife of Trace Adkins. Notably, he has been married four times. But the situation in one of his relationships took a different turn, leading to an incident that could have led to his death.
Trace Adkins recently appeared for an interview on This Past Weekend with Theo Von on July 28, 2026, where he said that the incident happened when his former partner, reportedly his second wife, Julie Curtis, told him to leave. Trace said that she had the gun in her hand and was prepared to fire a shot. Trace stated that she fired at him when he was approaching her. Trace said:
“She was mad. Wanted me to leave, and I wasn’t going to leave, so that’s how it went down. She put it under my left arm and the bullet came out under my right arm.”
Trace recalled what happened after he was shot, saying that he stood up and collapsed after taking a few steps. It was a dangerous shot as the bullet entered beneath Trace's left arm and came out beneath the right arm, which means it passed through his heart and lungs.
