Amid that, the Spider-Man actor, a while ago took to his Instagram to pen an emotional note.
Tom Holland gets emotional as The Odyssey releases globally
A while ago, Tom Holland took to his Instagram handle to share his feelings about the recently released film The Odyssey. The much-loved actor shared a series of snaps from different promotional events. It also included photos from their premiere in Mumbai. Along with it, he penned an emotional note, in which he described the experience of the ‘greatest pleasures’ of his life. Tom Holland’s note can be read as:
"There are movies where you are challenged and fulfilled creatively and there are jobs where you meet wonderful people. The Odyssey is both. Being a part of this epic adventure has been one of the greatest pleasures of my career. I couldn’t be more grateful for the experience and the lessons I’ve learnt."
Tom further thanked the entire crew of The Odyssey for giving the opportunity to interact with fans from all over the place. It is worth mentioning that over the years, Hollywood actors have rarely visited India to promote their films. However, Christopher Nolan made it possible. He also expressed pride towards everybody who is a part of the movie. Tom Holland explained:
"Thank you to our amazing crew for going the distance, thank you to our wonderful cast for shepherding me through this whirlwind and thank you to Chris and Emma for your guidance and giving me the opportunity of a lifetime. I couldn’t be prouder of everyone involved. The Odyssey is out now! Enjoy it on every and all formats you can and I’ll see you soon."
The post went viral in a few minutes and fans filled the comment section with heartfelt messages for Tom Holland and the entire cast of The Odyssey. One user commented, "Watched it last night! It was amazing! Great job on this movie Tom! So proud." Another user wrote, "You were absolutely fantastic." A third user penned, "So impressed with this cast." A fourth user shared, "I had the biggest smile on my face watching you literally own the screen every time you were on it! Astounding!!! So proud Tom!!"
What to expect from The Odyssey?
The Odyssey was one of the most anticipated films of 2026. It is based on the ancient poem of the same name. The movie follows the journey of 'Odysseus' and his struggles to reach home after the Trojan war. He takes nearly 10 years for the same and during the same, he faces many life-threatening challenges. His wife, 'Penelope' and their son, 'Telemachus' are eagerly waiting for him.
At its core, the audience can expect an adventurous ride full of action, emotions and mystery. And since it's a Christopher Nolan film, be prepared for some stunning visuals. It is worth mentioning that the movie has been shot at real locations in Greece, Morocco, Methoni Castle, Nestor's Cave, Voidokilia Beach, Iceland, Scotland and more.
Now that the film has been released, it is receiving mixed reviews from audiences. While some are impressed with the narrative and the cast, others couldn't emotionally connect to it. One user on X (formerly Twitter) wrote, "An okayish epic fantasy action film. Matt Damon's performance is the biggest highlight of the film. Film starts well, but after the 1st hour, it begins to lag." Another user penned, "Just watched The Odyssey. Indisputably the most epic and visually striking film I've ever seen. It'll certainly win Best Picture."
