The couple has reportedly developed deep feelings for one another, but they are said to have different timelines for marriage. While Kylie is "putting pressure" for an engagement, Timothée may not be ready to commit just now.
Timothée Chalamet is reportedly 'not there yet' to propose to Kylie
According to Page Six sources, the Kylie Cosmetics founder, 29, has made it clear that she sees marriage in their future, although she has not issued an ultimatum or demanded a proposal. Instead, an insider claims she is letting Timothée know how she feels and hopes he will be ready to commit sooner rather than later. The source told the outlet:
"Kylie is ready to get engaged and has made it pretty clear to Timothée that she sees marriage in their future."
The insider added that Kylie's hopes are "putting some pressure on Timothée to take that next step." However, the Marty Supreme star, 30, reportedly remains committed to the relationship without being ready for an engagement. The Page Six report also suggested that a proposal in the near future could happen because of the pressure he feels rather than a genuine sense of readiness. The source said:
"Timothée loves Kylie and is very much invested in their relationship, but he's simply not there yet."
The reported difference in timelines may be particularly difficult for Kylie because of her older sister Kendall Jenner's relationship with actor Jacob Elordi. Page Six previously reported that Kylie was experiencing "some jealousy and frustration" over the possibility that Kendall, 30, could get engaged before her, despite Kylie having been with Timothée for much longer.
Kendall and Elordi, 29, have reportedly grown increasingly serious since they were linked romantically. According to the insider, people close to both couples believe that Kendall and the Euphoria star could even make it to the altar first.
While initial reports suggested they were taking things slow, the source described Elordi as "completely all in with Kendall." Meanwhile, Kylie and Chalamet reportedly maintain a "more fun and carefree dynamic." The possibility of her younger relationship timeline being overtaken by Kendall's is said to be weighing on Kylie. However, the claims have not been confirmed.
Kylie and Chalamet first sparked dating rumors in April 2023. Since then, they have made several high-profile appearances together, while generally keeping the details of their relationship private.
What Timothée Chalamet has said about his wedding plans
Despite the latest reports, Timothée Chalamet has publicly indicated that marriage is something he could see in his future. During a promotional event in London for Marty Supreme in February 2026, the actor was asked whether he thought he would ever get married. He initially joked that the personal question could get him into "trouble," but ultimately gave a clear answer: "Yes. Yes."
Timothée has also publicly expressed his affection for Kylie. In January 2026, while accepting the Best Actor award at the Critics' Choice Awards for Marty Supreme, he publicly thanked his partner of three years. He said:
"Thank you for our foundation. I love you. I couldn't do this without you."
The couple has continued to appear together at major events, including Kylie's Victoria's Secret runway debut earlier this week. She was also seen hugging Timothée's mother after the show. The Kylie Cosmetics founder also shares two children, Stormi and Aire, with her former partner, Travis Scott. Timothée, meanwhile, has built a successful career with films including Call Me by Your Name, Wonka, and the Dune franchise.
