The dhak dhak girl of our tinsel town, Madhuri Dixit made many go crazy with her debut film itself named, Abodh. Though the movie didn’t do well at the box office, but it did change Madhuri’s life. And then, there was no looking back for this gorgeous lady.
With six Filmfare awards and Padma Shri award in her kitty, Madhuri created her own niche in the Indian film fraternity, and there’s no doubt about that. She is a self-made woman whose family had no ties with the glam world.
On October 17, 1999, the diva entered another beautiful phase of her life when she tied the knot with Dr. Shriram Madhav Nene, who happens to be a cardiovascular surgeon from Los Angeles, California (READ: Love Story). Together they have two sons, Arin and Rayaan.
She is one of those actresses whose work has always been in the limelight than the personal stuff. But we have something in store for you that many are unaware of. Excited to know what it is?
Well, this super-stunning dancing queen of Bollywood was once rejected by famous Bollywood singer, Suresh Wadkar apparently. Yes, you read that right! It’s hard to believe that the lady for whom many are mad was once rejected by Suresh.
Madhuri belongs to a conservative Maharashtrian family, and her parents didn’t want her to work in movies. Madhuri’s father even started hunting for a perfect groom for her when she was very young since they wanted her to get married and settle down.
After a lot of groom hunting, the actress’s father thought Suresh Wadkar to be a perfect match for his daughter. It’s that time when he just started off with his career in singing. But the twist in the tale is that the budding singer, who was 12 years older than Madhuri rejected the proposal. The reason behind the rejection was that he found Madhuri too thin.
It would definitely have been very disappointing for Madhuri’s father, but somehow it was lucky for the lady. If this wouldn’t have happened, she won’t have entered the showbiz world. And then after a few years later, she stepped into movies in 1984 with Aabodh.
It is rightly said that whatever happens, it happens for good. We are so happy for the fact that Suresh rejected Madhuri just to let her enter the film field. If that wouldn’t have happened, Bollywood might not have witnessed such a multi-talented diva. What do you guys have to say about it? Do let us know in the comments section below!
