'The Boys' Season 5 Episode 5 Review, 'Firecracker' Steals The Show As Bodies Drop In A New Chapter

The Boys Season 5 has left a positive impression ever since it arrived on April 8, 2026, on Amazon Prime Video. With a lot of things happening so far, fans have been excited to see what happens next. As usual, the show has maintained its reputation of showing the most graphic moments on screen while bringing the best storyline to the audience at the same time.

The fourth episode of Season 5 included some light moments, specifically towards the final frames, where 'Annie’s' father expressed his love for his daughter. The race to get the V1 was the central plot for Episode 4. The fifth episode, One-Shots, started airing on April 29, 2026. Keep reading to know if it is bigger and better than Episode 4!

Every character has a lot to contribute to the storyline of The Boys Season 5. But 'Firecracker' is expected to receive the closest attention. Right from the initial frames where she is explaining something to the supes inside the room, 'Firecracker’s' expressions and screen appearance bring more interest to continue the episode. The things done by 'Firecracker' are wrong and cannot have any excuses at all. Notably, she has been someone who has gone out of her way to keep others happy. She even landed the ultimate authority figure to impress, but that person did not care anything about her methods.

At the same time, 'Firecracker' clearly comes out as a character who is battling with a lot of things while being the disinformation shill for Vought. Her struggles are clearly expected to leave an impact, as it is not easy to see a character who has always had some positive motives and had to later let go of the same for certain reasons. On the other hand, the individuals who are possibly her idols are not expected to be with her at the time of need.

As usual, the fifth episode of The Boys Season 5 starts on a very normal tone. But as it progresses, it starts getting darker and more intense, bringing more chaotic moments on screen. 'Firecracker' is prepared to betray all those who have been supporting her for all this time. She is seemingly not interested in being with those individuals anymore. 'Terror’s' urge to get intimate is finally revealed to be associated with an attraction towards something sweet.

'Sister Sage' once again proves that she is brilliant and that she can do anything, with her intelligence on full display, although this can lead to different opinions among people. The most graphic moment is also included, where 'Adam Bourke' dies due to 'The Deep’s' needless aggression. All of this is witnessed by 'Black Noir.'

Jared Padalecki’s cameo brings more entertaining moments

Years ago, Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles shared the screen on Supernatural for multiple seasons. While fans are undoubtedly missing the pair’s chemistry, the fifth episode of The Boys Season 5 brings a different situation, despite marking the actors’ reunion after a long time.

Jared plays 'Mr. Marathon,' who is found by 'Homelander' and 'Soldier Boy' with help from 'Stan Edgar.' Everyone is having a normal conversation, planning to find V1. But 'Mr. Marathon' reveals his aim to finish 'Homelander,' something unacceptable for 'Soldier Boy.' This leads to another mess as 'Mr. Marathon' runs after 'Soldier Boy' by passing through a few people, with blood spilling all over the former’s face and body.
