While there are several successful actors in the Indian entertainment industry, aka Bollywood, there indeed isn’t anyone like Shah Rukh Khan. The Baadshah of Bollywood has, time and again, proven that he is the reigning king of the industry and is here to rule. The megastar enjoys a massive fan following in India and across borders. This has yet again been proven by the prestigious Academy as they honoured SRK’s iconic film, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, almost 29 years after its release.
The Academy, also known as the Oscars, is one of the most prestigious awards that every artist from the global entertainment fraternity desires to earn. The Academy often takes to its official Instagram page and recognises quality cinema. It strives to celebrate the global film industry and the artists who make and deliver movies. As an ode to this initiative, The Academy shared a snippet of Mehndi Laga Ke Rakhna from Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol’s iconic movie, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge.

The Academy took to their Instagram page and shared a snippet of the song, Mehndi Laga Ke Rakhna, which features Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, along with Amrish Puri and Farida Jalal. This is a massive achievement for Bollywood as The Academy not only paid their respect to the cast and crew of DDLJ via their post but also felicitated the entire Indian cinema. Taking to their Instagram, The Academy wrote:
“Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol performing the classic song ‘Mehndi Laga Ke Rakhna’ from 1995’s ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’.”
As soon as the post was published on The Academy’s official page, netizens took to the comments section to express their love and appreciation for SRK for representing India on the global platform. The king of Bollywood recently reunited with his dear friend and actor, Aamir Khan, at his daughter, Ira Khan’s wedding reception party. SRK looked dapper in an all-black three-piece suit with a white shirt underneath. The actor was accompanied by his wife, Gauri Khan, who looked ethereal in a maroon-hued velvet salwar suit. The couple was all smiles as they posed for the shutterbugs with Aamir Khan and Pritam Shikhare.
