Amid that, an insider recently had a conversation with a journalist named Rob Shuter, during which they explained that Austin was deeply uncomfortable being the Man-of-Honour. The insider was quoted as saying:
"Austin is deeply uncomfortable with all of this. He agreed to be Taylor's Man of Honor because she's his sister- not because he wanted to become a celebrity. The attention has been overwhelming."
The main reason behind this is media attention. As per reports, Austin likes to live an extremely private life; however, after the wedding, netizens have been digging every single detail about him, including his dating history. A close friend of Austin Swift appeared on Naughty But Nice and explained:
"He's spent years making sure the spotlight stayed on Taylor. Now people are dissecting everything- from his dating life to what he wore at the wedding. It's the exact opposite of the life he's chosen."
Taylor Swift is extremely protective towards her brother
Apart from this, another insider explained that Taylor Swift is extremely protective of her brother, Austin. Since he prefers to keep his life private, Taylor tries her best to protect him from the media glare. Despite this, Austin never misses a chance to be there for his sister, whenever she needs him. The insider revealed:
"Taylor knows Austin isn't wired for fame. He's loyal, grounded, and incredibly private. He shows up for Taylor because he loves her, not because he wants attention."
A third insider also explained that even though Austin was a part of Taylor’s wedding, fans should not expect any interviews from him. Austin still believes that he is happy in his private world. The source said, "Don't expect interviews, a podcast, or an influencer career. If anything, this experience has reminded Austin why he's always preferred life behind the scenes. That's where he's happiest—and that's exactly where he intends to stay."

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce tied the knot on July 3, 2026, at Madison Square Garden, nearly a year after their engagement in August 2025. The wedding was attended by several celebrities like Selena Gomez, Benny Blanco, Andy Reid, Camila Cabello, Dakota Johnson, Ed Sheeran and more. Currently, they are on their honeymoon.
It is worth noting that Taylor and Travis began dating each other in 2023, but kept their romance private for a while. After a few months they confirmed the dating rumours and since then they often spoke fondly about each other. Amid that, the NFL star once appeared on Bussin’ With The Boys podcast and shared:
"She's very self-aware. I think that's why I really started to really fall for her, was how genuine she is around friends and family. It can get crazy for somebody with that much attention and she just keeps it so chill and so cool. She really won me over with that one."
