Taylor Frankie Paul's Ex Dakota Mortensen Admits To Being 'Bad Guy' In 'Unwell Winter Games' Trailer

Dakota Mortensen and his relationship with his ex, Taylor Frankie Paul, have become the talk of the town in the past couple of weeks. For those unaware, the duo are involved in a domestic violence row. In fact, the Draper City Police Department in Utah has already confirmed an active domestic assault investigation involving the Dakota and The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star. Amid this, it has been revealed that Dakota will appear in an original competition series called Unwell Winter Games. With the trailer already released, what caught fans' eyes was Dakota seemingly getting candid about his past actions.  

Dakota Mortensen opens up about bad choices in the past and agrees when called a "bad guy"  

The trailer for Alex Cooper's Unwell Winter Games dropped on March 31, 2026. In the four-episode series, fans will get to see a total of 16 participants, all of whom are seemingly polarising content creators and reality TV stars. The participants will find themselves embroiled in drama as they compete in a number of challenges, all while staying at a luxury chalet in Park City, Utah.  

For those unaware, among the 16 contestants, Dakota Mortensen's participation in the show has become the talk of the town. In the trailer of the upcoming series, he can be seen admitting, “I've made some bad choices in my past.” Another moment from the trailer which caught attention was his conversation with Dancing With The Stars pro, Gleb Savchenko. During the conversation, Gleb can be seen pointing at Dakota and saying, “Bad guy.” Interestingly, Gleb then points to himself, saying the same. Dakota seemed to agree with his statements and nodded.  

Who is Dakota Mortensen? 

Dakota Mortensen is a reality TV star and businessman. He has appeared on Hulu's The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. Dakota was born on January 27, 1993, and as of March 2026, he is reportedly 33 years old. Most people recognise Dakota as the former partner of Taylor Frankie Paul. Additionally, Dakota's participation in the DadTok community was another factor that greatly boosted his popularity. For those unaware, DadTok refers to a spinoff influencer group of husbands featured on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. Together, the group creates content, including recreations of their wives' viral trends.  

Prior to joining SLOMV, Dakota appeared on NBC's survival show, The Island, which aired in 2015. Apart from his work in the entertainment industry, Dakota is known to have worked as a real estate agent. If reports are to be believed, he is the owner of Basin Tiling, a tiling company that mainly operates in Utah and his home state of Idaho.

The upcoming series, Unwell Winter Games, is all set to premiere on Unwell's YouTube channel on April 6, 2026. The full cast features multiple names you might already be familiar with. For instance, it includes Anna Delvey, the convicted felon who inspired the Netflix series, Inventing Anna; Juliette Porter, who was seen on Siesta Keys; Mormon Wives star, Demi Engemann; WWE star, Saraya Bevis; Love Island alumni, Eyal Booker; Ekin Su Cülcüloglu and Huda Mustafa; and Bachelor contestant, Serena Pitt. 

There are also going to be a lot of internet personalities on the show. This includes Hallie Batchelder, Cameron Jerrard, Alissa Violet, Andrew Vetter, Hannah Stocking, Dylan Kevitch, Niko Emanuilidis, Louis Russell, Joe Amabile, and Hallie Batchelder.
