The duo's relationship began in 2022, and after a period of on-and-off dating, they welcomed their son, Ever, in 2024. It was only by the end of that year that Taylor Frankie Paul and Dakota parted ways permanently. However, their tumultuous relationship continued to grab the attention, mainly after TFP's show, The Bachelorette, was canceled after her and Dakota's video made rounds on social media.

A lot of the incidents took place following this, including Dakota getting temporary custody of their son, Ever. Paul was allowed eight-hour weekly supervised visitation. The duo was ordered to stay 100 km away from each other, following a protective order against them.
Dakota didn't stop and called cops on her to see if any orders were violated in the last week, which, according to Us Weekly, caused hurt to Taylor Frankie Paul, who is also in the middle of a legal custody battle with her ex-husband, Tate Paul. A lot of issues have been going on, and it was at that moment that Dakota's roommate and friend, Cru Eaton, released a video of Taylor.
In the video, Taylor was seen on the floor sobbing after a fight with Dakota. The video was recorded during the time when Taylor welcomed Ever and was dealing with postpartum. Soon after the video was released by Cru, TFP filed a stalking petition against Cru. According to a recent report by TMZ, Taylor was granted a restraining order against Cru.
As per the court documents obtained by the publication, Cru has been ordered to stay away from TFP and has been asked not to contact her. Sharing the video, Cru wrote that it was clear from the clip that Dakota was not the one to start the fight every time, so he had no way of knowing when he needed to be recording them.

Taylor Frankie Paul also reacted to the video and tagged it as cruelty. In the clip, she was seen having a breakdown as she was on the floor, sobbing. Taylor Frankie Paul in the video was seen asking Dakota why he was recording. Dakota replied that he was doing the same, so she knew that she could get caught for her alleged behavior. He also alleged in the video that Taylor Frankie Paul had beaten him, and he didn't do anything.
Dakota also accused her of behaving differently when she was in front of the camera. Dakota, in the same clip, was heard calling Dakota an abusive person. When the video was released by Cru, TFP took to her social media handle and shared a note, wherein she added that there is a line between accountability and cruelty. She also stated that it was a meltdown from a moment when she was going through postpartum, and thus, releasing a video of such a moment felt cruel to her.
