Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan had tied the knot in 2012. Four years later, in 2016, Kareena had given birth to a grey-eyed boy, Taimur Ali Khan, whose cuteness knows no bounds, making him an instant favourite baby of the nation. In 2021, Saif and Kareena welcomed their second child, a baby boy, whom they have named Jehangir Ali Khan. With the birth of a sibling, it is natural for the elder one to grow responsible and the same has happened with Taimur after the birth of Jehangir.
On The Kapil Sharma Show, during the promotion of Bhoot Police, the host of the show, Kapil Sharma had asked Saif Ali Khan, what he did during the COVID-19 lockdown and his hilarious reply had made everyone ROFL. Answering the same, Saif had said, "First lockdown, maine French aur cooking seekhi, second lockdown mein bachcha." Along with his answer, Saif had pumped his fist in the air, flaunting his achievement during the lockdown.
In a conversation with Hindustan Times, Saif Ali Khan revealed about how his four-year-old son, Taimur Ali Khan has changed after the birth of his baby brother, Jehangir Ali Khan. Sharing how Tim is more responsible now and tries to make Jeh laugh, Saif said, “There is definitely a change in Taimur… he was the younger one and now he isn’t anymore. He is interested in zombies and armies and he makes his brother laugh a lot and usually (with) loud things. I think we are going to have our hands full. I am quite frightened as to where the peace and quiet portion is going to go with two boys.”
Talking about his life with his wife, Kareena Kapoor Khan and kids, Taimur and Jeh, Saif said, “The first lockdown was like that. We are luckily very sorted people. My family is quite balanced, we have lovely children here. We can cook and listen music and read books and be okay like that also, but we much prefer our normal lives working, and balancing it ourselves.”
Talking about if the last two years of the pandemic gave him the much-needed family time, Saif said, “I don’t think I was over-worked to a point where I didn’t know what a holiday was like, and suddenly in the lockdown I discovered what it was. I have always known. I would much rather not have a lockdown. But I mean if we look at bright side, we got some amazing family.”
When asked if it gets challenging to manage their two kids as both, Saif and Kareena are working, he replied, “The important distinction there is that we don’t really have to work, so we can afford to choose what we want to do, we have been doing it for a while now.” Talking about attaining the balance, Saif added, “There comes a phase in life where you want more and want better and there is not end to that. But there has be to a balance.”
Sharing how he and Kareena balance work and parenting, the Bhoot Police actor added, “We make sure that one of us is working less and one of us is working more. And we share responsibilities and make sure we get our holidays together. It also works because Kareena really wants to be married and have a home life as well as work.”
Saif Ali Khan concluded by mentioning that both he and Kareena enjoy home life, “For both of us nothing is more important than spending time with kids and each other cooking and having what you call a family atmosphere but you need to balance that by going out there and proving something to the yourself and world in terms of your work, then you are a happier person.”
