Sydney Towle once shared her mom's emotional reaction to the end-of-life care suggestion
Nearly three months ago, in May 2026, Sydney Towle and her mother, Elizabeth Morrow, shared a candid update about a suggestion that left them in shock. During that time, Sydney shared that her oncologist told her that he would no longer continue her treatment. In fact, he suggested they shift towards end-of-life care.

Needless to say, the news came as a shock to Sydney and her family. Eventually, in another social media video, the influencer acknowledged feeling anger and other emotions in response to the suggestion. At the same time, her mother was totally unprepared for the discussion. Therefore, she immediately became emotional. According to Sydney, her mother broke down hearing it.
The 26-year-old also clarified that she was not ready to accept the suggestion at that point. She mentioned how she was in the middle of trying other treatment options. They were also considering a clinical trial about tumor-infiltrating lymphocyte therapy. Since Sydney had made up her mind to fight her illness, she took another medical opinion and met a new oncologist who agreed to continue her treatment.
Meanwhile, her mother, Elizabeth Morrow, said that the doctor's suggestion for end-of-life care was both "shocking" and "jarring." She acknowledged that her daughter was facing strong side effects and symptoms of the treatment. But the doctor gave no hints that they were planning to stop her treatment.
Therefore, Elizabeth felt that the sudden suggestion was difficult for them to accept. Especially when they were looking for more treatment options. She also mentioned that she had deep respect for end-of-life care, but did not feel it was right for Sydney at that time.
Overall, the mother-daughter duo was hopeful of her recovery despite every challenge. In fact, throughout her battle with cancer, Sydney encouraged her followers with serious illnesses to believe in new possibilities and treatments.
However, sadly, Sydney Towle died on August 5, 2026. She was suffering from metastatic cholangiocarcinoma, a rare form of bile duct cancer. For those unaware, the influencer's illness was diagnosed in 2023 when she was just 23. A day before her death, her brother, Austin, informed her followers that she was moved into hospice surrounded by her loved ones.
