Sometimes no matter how hard you try, couples drift apart and at that time, it's better to let go than to hold on. We know that goodbyes are not easy, especially when it is your loved ones, but at times things happen and we get stuck in a situation, wherein we have no choice than to move on. And that's exactly what happened in the love story of Bollywood's most-loved couple, Hrithik Roshan and Sussanne Khan. The ex-couple was so close that people can never imagine that their love story will end like this. It was in the year 2013 when Hrithik and Sussanne's personal life became the headlines of every newspaper and television because of their divorce. While people had passed different conjectures, the ex-couple had maintained the dignity of their relationship and had kept quiet. The ex-couple have time and again came together for their family events and their young boys, Hrehaan Roshan and Hridhaan Roshan.
Not many know that there was a time when Hrithik and Sussanne were madly in love with each other and proof of it was seen in a throwback interview with Karan for the first season of his show, Koffee With Karan in 2005. Sussanne Khan, who had graced the show with her friend, Gauri Khan, had revealed that she would never want to 'move on' if she was no longer with Hrithik. She had said, "I pray to God that if there ever has to be a time where I am not with Hrithik, for whatever reason, I don’t think I would want to move on with my life. I can’t imagine my life without him. I am too attached." (Also Read: Randhir Kapoor Talks About Life After His Brother, Rishi Kapoor's Demise, Admits They Miss Him Badly)
For those who don't know, Sussanne still continues to call Hrithik her best friend and often regard the bond they share as sacred. Last year, when she had appeared on Neha Dhupia’s chat show, BFF’s With Vogue, she had talked about her first love, Hrithik. She had recalled the time when she had first met her ex-husband, Hrithik in the 90's, and had said, “That’s when I explored, studied, went to LA and came back when I met a superstar boy who was not a superstar at that time, but was one in my eyes when I met him. But before this I didn’t realize I didn’t have any interest in the film world. But destiny gets me back that way. I love the films and the industry, but I am so happy being where I am in my profession.”
In March, when the government had passed 'stay at home orders', Hrithik had announced Sussanne's decision to temporarily move-in to his home. He had shared a long note on his Instagram handle that could be read as "It is unimaginable for me, as a parent, to think of having to be separated from my children at a time when the country is practising lockdowns. It is heartwarming to see the world come together as one in this time of deep uncertainty and possibility of months of social distancing and potential lockdowns for several weeks perhaps. While the world talks about humanity coming together, I think it represents more than just an idea especially for parents sharing custody of their kids. How to keep their kids close to them without infringing on the right of the other who also has an equal right to be with his/her children."
