The news of the divorce of Hrithik Roshan and Sussanne Khan in 2014 came as a huge shocker for the millions of fans of the couple, who could not believe their ears. Hailed as one of the most perfect jodis in Bollywood, Hrithik and Sussanne had mesmerised fans with their amazing chemistry and undying love for one another. While what had gone utterly wrong between the duo was not particularly elaborated publicly by either of the ex-couple, nevertheless, their divorce was amicable and they chose to remain best friends, especially for the benefit of co-parenting their sons, Hrehaan and Hridaan Roshan.
Having passed so many years post their divorce, the ex-couple, Hrithik and Sussane are happy co-parents and great best friends with one another. Their camaraderie proves that they certainly know how to let the bygones be bygones and move on in life. While they have never been quite media-active people when it came to sharing their experiences and feelings about their personal life, it was Sussanne in one of her interviews post her divorce where she spoke about the kind of relation she shared with her ex-husband. She revealed that Hrithik has always remained her constant support system and that the duo share a sacred zone with one another. In her words:
“I have a support system in Hrithik. It’s not a marriage, but we are friends. That zone is so sacred to me, it doesn’t make me feel sad or lonely. My kids are go-getters. They organise things!"

It seems that much more than as husband and wife, Hrithik and Sussanne have evolved more as partners and best friends post their divorce from one another. Even today, they have been always been spotted to come together in the most amicable way like good old buddies. Proof of the same was found in one of Hrithik’s appreciative post for his ex-wife, Sussanne as he captured her clicking pictures of their sons, Hridaan and Hrehaan. While the video spoke volumes about the unconventional bond that they now shared, it was his caption that was unmissable. He had written:
“Here is Sussanne, my closest friend (also my ex-wife) capturing a moment with me and our boys. A moment in itself. It tells a story to our kids. That, in a world separated by lines and ideas, it is still possible to be united. And that you can want different things like people and yet stay undivided. Here’s to a more united, tolerant, brave, open and loving world. It all starts at home.”

The divorce news of Hrithik and Sussanne had raised a lot of eyebrows back in the day, and nearly everyone was abrupt in drawing their own conclusions about the celeb couple. One of the most highlighted reason that was speculated was the fact of Hrithik’s frequent link-ups with his co-stars, which had apparently taken a toll on his marriage. Well, while Hrithik and Sussane might have moved on in their lives and have found new love in Saba Azad and Arsalan Goni respectively, there was once a time when the duo were a happily married couple who left no stone unturned to heap love on one another. Proof of the same was found in an episode of the celebrity chat show, Koffee With Karan in 2005, where Sussanne had sweetly mentioned how she could never imagine her life without her then-dear husband, Hrithik Roshan. She could be heard as:
"I pray to God that if there ever has to be a time where I am not with Hrithik, for whatever reason, I don’t think I would want to move on with my life. I can’t imagine my life without him. I am too attached."
