At a young age of 25, Sushmita had adopted her first daughter (Renee) and had stepped into the journey of motherhood. Later in 2009, she had again fought with the society in order to get custody of her second daughter (Alisah). And in the midst of raising her daughter and creating a legendary life, Sushmita Sen found love in Rohman Shawl, who changed her life and completed her story. Since then, their Instagram feeds are filled with mushy pictures and adorable PDAs.
On December 28, 2019, Sushmita took to her Instagram handle and posted a beautiful picture with Rohman. Alongside it, she wrote the lines of her favourite shayari that can be read as "Hum kisise khushiyan mange yeh hame manzoor nahi, mangi huyi khushiyon se kiska bhala hota hai... jitna apni takdeer mein likha hai woh zaroor ata hota hai." We remember once in a media interaction, Sushmita was quoted as saying, "We are always told that this is the right age to get married, this is the right age to have children and this is the right age to retire. But I wanted to take life at my own clock because everybody is unique." And she is actually living life on her own terms and enjoys a massive fan following while staying away from the silver screen. On Sushmita's 44th birthday, her boyfriend, Rohman had planned a beautiful dinner night for her with fairy lights, flowers, balloons, canopy, cake and heartfelt notes. Sushmita had shared a video of the celebrations and had shared a long note that could be read as "What a magical #birthday EVERYTHING I COULD’VE WISHED FOR & MORE. Thank you jaan @rohmanshawl for this ALL HEART Birthday Surprise!!! I love you. Everyone acted sooooo well...I really had no idea!!! To make Sushmita's birthday more special, Rohman had also penned a heartfelt note that could be read as "Just as the rising sun brings light to the world, you, my love, bring light to my life! Truth be told, I wanted to write paragraphs about you on this special day, but hey, when I think about you I am just as awestruck and speechless as I was when I saw you sitting there while taking this picture! In an interview with Rajeev Masand, Sushmita Sen had revealed about her first meeting with the man of her dreams, Rohman Shawl. The actress had shared, "It's a very very beautiful serendipity story. He sent me a direct message on Instagram and I didn't check direct messages because I wasn't sure if you check it you may be allowing that person to start communicating with you. So, I had too many of these direct messages and I had not opened any and there it was."
She had further added, "Touch screen phone ki Jai ho because I had gone to the DM to look at what all had come and I was scrolling through and this boy broke something in the room and I went talking to him and when I came back I had obviously opened one of the DMs and it was a message from him and I was like 'Oh my god, how did I do that, god I should never be talking when I am near a phone." She then dropped a text to Rohman saying, "Thank you so much, your message made my day, I wish you all the happiness in the world." And when she was about to leave, she got a reply from Rohman that read "I am jumping from one room to another, I cannot believe you responded."
