On June 14, 2020, the young talented actor, Sushant Singh Rajput had taken his own life by suicide at his Mumbai residence and just like his family, his fans too, were in disbelief of how he can take such step in his life. Since then, everyone's been wondering what must have had happened for Sushant to feel that suicide was his only way out. Mumbai Police has been investigating every aspect of his life and the ones he was close to, are being investigated by them.
Sushant Singh Rajput's father, who lives in Patna, and a sister, who lives in Mumbai, had performed the actor's last rites with his close friends from the industry in attendance. Sushant's other sister, who lives in the US, couldn't reach on time to attend the funeral of her brother but is now with her family. During the investigation of the police, the initial analysis reported that Sushant was under depression from the last six months and was taking medicines. As per Indianexpress.com, Sushant's father has informed the police that though he was aware that his son was feeling 'low', he had no idea about the actor being depressed. A senior Mumbai Police official said, "The family informed us that they do not know why Sushant was depressed and also did not mention if they had any suspicion on anyone.”
Sushant Singh Rajput's sister, Shweta Singh Kirti had revealed how his nephew, Nirvanh had reacted on his mamu's demise, and had written on her FB status, "When I told Nirvanh the news that Mamu is no more, he said “But he is alive in your heart” 3 times. When a 5 yr old can say something like that... think how strong we should all be.... A preliminary post-mortem at Dr R N Cooper Municipal General Hospital had confirmed the cause of death of Sushant Singh Rajput as asphyxia due to hanging. In the latest development of the case, the Mumbai police have recorded the statements of family members, cook, caretaker and managers of Sushant. As per the reports, police had found nothing to be indicated as a foul play and to understand Sushant's finances, business dealings and his profile in the film industry, they have interrogated the actor's creative manager. The official said, “We had recorded the preliminary statement of the creative manager on Sunday and have called him once more.”
To confirm the news of Sushant Singh Rajput's demise by suicide, his team had released an official statement for his fans. It had stated, “It pains us to share that Sushant Singh Rajput is no longer with us. We request his fans to keep him in their thoughts and celebrate his life, and his work like they have done so far. We request media to help us maintain privacy at this moment of grief.”
Reportedly, Mumbai Police is also expected to question director, Shekhar Kapur to know more details about Sushant Singh Rajput's personal life. To mourn for Sushant, Shekhar had tweeted, "I knew the pain you were going through. I knew the story of the people that let you down so bad that you would weep on my shoulder. I wish I was around the last six months. I wish you had reached out to me. What happened to you was their Karma. Not yours."
