However, his fans are not ready to believe that their favourite star, who had motivated them to stay on the right track, could take away his own life. On June 14, 2020, when the news of Sushant's death had come out, the entire Bollywood had started putting on messages of 'depression' and 'we are here to listen' on their respective IG handles. But it was the actor's former girlfriend, Ankita Lokhande, who had come out in the open and had claimed that Sushant wasn't a depressed person. The actress had proved that in the time of need, she 'was', 'is' and 'will' always be the biggest support for Sushant and his family.
Ankita has been supporting Sushant's family in their fight to know the real truth, and her beau, Vicky Jain is walking beside her. However, not many people know that Sushant, Ankita and Vicky had once shared a beautiful bond. On August 15, 2020, Sushant's family had hosted a global 24-hour spiritual and prayers observation for him. Ankita had also supported the family and had joined them in the digital prayer meet. She had posted a video of angels and had written, "Miracle-Man, A Startling soul, an awe-inspiring personality. You will be missed Sushant. Please post a pic of yours with folded hands and join the campaign #GlobalPrayers4SSR today." And her beau, Vicky Jain had also praye for his once best friend. In an interview with Republic TV, Ankita had revealed why she didn't attend her former-boyfriend, Sushant's funeral. She had shared that she had gotten up from a phone call of a journalist, who had informed her about his death, "I was sleeping, and I just got up with some reporter's call. Usually, I don't take unknown numbers. I picked up the call, and this reporter said, ''Ankita, Sushant has committed suicide!'' And I was finished. It was something that you don't expect something like this." She had further added, "I didn't know what to do. I was just there. The next day, there was his funeral, and I couldn't make it because somewhere I knew that if I see Sushant somewhere like that, in that position, that stage. I have my whole life to live, and I will never be able to forget that phase. So I decided that I cannot go to the funeral."
