On June 14, 2020, the nation went under shock when their TV screens had flashed the news of Sushant Singh Rajput’s demise by suicide. Nobody believed that the actor could die due to suicide, nobody still wants to believe the same. It is reported that the late actor was suffering from depression for the past 6 months and was taking anti-depressants. However, nobody knew that he would bow down to mental illness. The nation is under shock, and everyone’s heart is breaking thinking about his alleged girlfriend, Rhea Chakraborty’s condition to the news.
Of late, Sushant Singh Rajput was linked with Jalebi actress, Rhea Chakraborty, however, the two had always remained tight-lipped about their relationship. According to a report in News 18, Rhea and Sushant were living together during the lockdown and he had sent Rhea back to her home just a day before taking this drastic step. The report further states that the police will now interrogate the actress as they want to know the details of their relationship, and the reason for his depression.
For the uninitiated, Rhea Chakraborty and Sushant Singh Rajput were spotted quite a few times at each other’s residence, partying together. It was on January 10, 2020, when Sushant had taken to his official Instagram handle to make his relationship with Rhea Insta-official. Sharing a picture of Rhea, Sushant had referred to his not-so-rumoured-anymore ladylove as ‘meri jalebi’ (a reference to Rhea’s last release, Jalebi). However, Sushant had deleted the post from his Instagram later.
However, as we said, Sushant and Rhea had never officially accepted their relationship and had called each other as ‘just friends’ only. On April 12, 2020, in an Insta live chat with ETimes, Rhea had admitted that Sushant was a very close friend of her and there was nothing more than that. She had said, "Neither Sushant Singh Rajput nor I have ever admitted that, so it's not true. Sushant and I are really good friends. I've known him for eight years now. We were in YRF together and we had the same manager for a long period. Our friendship has evolved over the years. I love all my friends and I don't hide that. I am very public about my love for the people in my life, whether they are girls or boys. Whereas Sushant is a concern, he's one of the nicest and the coolest person I know. I don't know about him but to me, he's super cute and attractive. But I don't know what he thinks about me." On January 27, 2020, in an interview with the Hindustan Times, Rhea Chakraborty had opened up about her relationship status with Sushant Singh Rajput. She was quoted as saying, “We’ve been very good friends for many years. I am fond of working towards our shared goals, like starting our new NGO and travelling.
