On August 7, 2020, Rhea Chakraborty had appeared for the first time at ED's office. After which her brother, Showik Chakraborty was also interrogated by ED for the first time on August 8 and that too for 18-long-hours. On August 10, 2020, popular news agency, ANI took to their Twitter handle and revealed that Bollywood actress, Rhea Chakraborty along with her father, Indrajit Chakraborty and brother, Showik Chakraborty had left ED's office after 11-long-hours. The trio has appeared for the second time for interrogation regarding the money laundering FIR filed from the side of the late actor, Sushant Singh Rajput's family. According to various media reports, it has been suggested that the ED has also interrogated Sushant Singh Rajput's friend, Siddharth Pithani on behalf of Patna police's FIR. Take a look. Sushant Singh Rajput's flatmate, Siddharth Pithani while talking to Times Now had revealed that he had spoken to the late actor about the expenditure that Rhea was incurring on his cards. He had also said that Sushant had himself told him in January that he had wanted to cut down on his expenses. Not only this, but even Sushant's staff had also told him that the late actor was worried about the overflowing expenses that Rhea had kept on incurring on his cards. Pithani had further revealed that the servants had also told him that Rhea would order things at home on Sushant's cards.
The Bihar government had requested for CBI enquiry, and on August 5, 2020, Supreme Court had accepted the plea and the Centre's senior second-most law officer, Tushar Mehta had informed, "Union of India has in principle accepted the request by Bihar to have a CBI probe. Notification regarding the same will be issued by the end of the day today." That is the reason why the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has seized some of the crucial documents pertaining to the personal life of Sushant and is grilling all the suspects in long interrogations.
According to a report from Times Now, it has been suggested that Rhea was in contact with a top director, other than Mahesh Bhatt, and the revelations has come forward after the dump analysis of actress' smartphone done by ED. The report explained, "The actress dialed an elite director in Bollywood for help in her ongoing case, from whom she wanted the contact number of a media person, who would do articles in her favour." The report further added, "There is reportedly no home loan rebate in her Income Tax Returns, which has put a question mark on the source of her real estate properties. It must be noted that two properties linked to Rhea – one in Khar (East) and the other one in Navi Mumbai – are under the scanner of the ED."
