While the couple initially denied it, recent developments tell a different story. In fact, Govinda's recent visit with an aspiring actress at Lalbaugcha Raja further escalated the buzz about his extramarital affair at 62.
Sunita gets emotional during her visit to Maa Dakshineshwar Kali temple
On September 25, 2026, Sunita Ahuja was seen seeking darshan of Maa Kali at Dakshineshwar Kali temple. After taking blessings, Sunita bared her heart out during a media byte. She revealed that she had visited the temple with the intention of protecting her marriage. She stated that Maa Kali is known for protecting and giving instant punishment, and she prays that people who have bad intentions of breaking her home also get the lesson.
Sunita Ahuja further added that her home is being broken and then requested the media not to support those who are doing so. She requested them to stand with her in these testing times. She said:
"Jo mere saath ho raha hai, woh achha nahi ho raha hai. Mera ghar toot raha hai for no reason."
Sunita visited the temple right after Govinda was spotted with his co-star Komal Rani at Lalbaugcha Raja. It ignited the buzz of his extramarital affair, and a lot of backlash came his way. Govinda's nephew, Krushna Abhishek's wife, Kashmera, also shared her views on it with a cryptic post.
Taking to her Instagram handle, Kashmera shared a photo of herself as she sipped coffee while standing on the balcony. Along with it, she penned a sharp note. Without naming her uncle-in-law, Kashmera urged people to stop glorifying 'homebreakers'. She also pointed out idolising men who leave their faithful wives for younger women. She called it disgusting and asked people to have morality. She wrote:
"I can’t believe that people are glamorising and posting about ‘a mystery woman’. Stop glorifying homebreakers and stop idolising men who leave their devoted wives for younger, ambitious girls. Disgusting. Expect more sanity and more morality from our people. Please stop this madness."
Govinda and Sunita got married in 1987, and they kept the relationship a secret for a year. The couple is blessed with two children, a son, Yashvardhan Ahuja and a daughter, Tina Ahuja. Recently, in an interaction with ANI, Govinda reacted to the buzz about his affair with Komal Rani, also known as Rani Swarnkar.
He revealed that it is not anyone's fault and that it was his strategically planned move. Govinda added that more things would happen and that it was part of the plan to distance himself from the family and then tarnish his image in society. He was quoted as saying:
“It is not anyone’s fault. This is a very strategically planned move. Things are going to happen more. It was a part of the plan to distance me from my family and then tarnish my image in society. I never focused on anything other than my work. I kept working. Many would praise me."
It is worth adding that Govinda asked people to stop writing defamatory articles against him and linking him to his co-actress. However, Sunita kept her ground firm and expressed her hurt about her husband's behaviour in the media.
