Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik is happily married to squash champion, Dipika Pallikal. The duo tied the knot in 2015, and together, they were blessed with twin boys, Kabir and Zian, born on October 18, 2021. Since then, the cricketer often shares anecdotes from his life and amazes his fans. Now, we stumbled upon a video featuring him alongside his teammates, and Virat Kohli was seen hilariously teasing Dinesh by hinting about Dipika.
In a video going viral on social media, Dinesh Karthik can be seen seated with a list of questions in front of his teammates. The video began with Dinesh asking his friends about one of his favourite sportspersons besides any cricketer. He asked, "What's my favourite sportsperson other than cricketer?" Soon, Virat quipped, "Your wife?", and Dinesh too, quickly mentioned, "It's a great answer." But Virat unable to stop himself from teasing him, mentioned, "For sure", and all of them present over there, broke into laughter. Finally, Dinesh mentioned that he had some other answer in his head and said:
"I had a different answer in my head. You caught me off-guard, completely, I swear."

A few months back, Dinesh Karthik was hitting the headlines for quite some time for his comments about cricket bats. The cricketer, who recently turned into a commentator then had shocked everyone with a disappointing sexist comment during the 2nd ODI between England and Sri Lanka. The cricketer compared cricket bats with ‘neighbours’ wives’. It was when he was talking about how bats are like someone’s wife for the cricketers. Moreover, he mentioned that every cricketer disapproves of their bats and always finds other players’ bats more likeable. Thus, making the absurd comment, he said:
"Batsmen and not liking bats, they go hand in hand. Most of the batters don’t seem to like their bats. They either like another person’s bat. Bats are like a neighbour's wife. They always feel better."

However, his misogynist comment irked millions of people across the nation. Thus, during the commentary duties of the 3rd ODI between England and Sri Lanka, Dinesh apologised for the same. He also admitted how his wife, Dipika Pallikal and his mother, Padmini Krishnakumar, reacted to his comments. Mentioning that Dipika has also scolded him for the same, Dinesh added that he never had the same intention to hurt the emotions of his millions of fans. He shared:
"I want to apologise for what happened last game. It's not really what I intended. I just got it all wrong. I apologise to everybody. It's definitely not the right thing to say. I got a lot of stick from my wife and my mum for saying that. I am really sorry that it shouldn't happen again."

For the unversed, Dinesh got married twice in his life. Earlier, he was married to his childhood lover, Nikita Vanjara. They had tied the knot back in 2007. However, after some years into their married life, Nikita fell in love with Dinesh's cricketer friend, Murli Vijay. There were many reports claiming that Nikita had also become the mother of Murli's child while being married to Dinesh. Thus, when Dinesh learned about this, the couple separated. After his heartbreaking divorce from Nikita, Dinesh found love again in Dipika, and since then, they’ve been leading a happy married life.
