This Father's Day has been extremely special as Sumeet was holding his little baby boy in his arm. The actor had shared an adorable Father's Day wish for his little one on his Instagram. On June 25, 2020, Sumeet shared a glimpse of his baby with his mother, Ekta. In the picture, we can see the adorable baby sleeping peacefully in his mommy's embrace. The actor penned a cutey note with it, which can be read as "Don’t think I can ever take any credit if he turns out to be Awesome. I’m sure he will, coz she definitely is the most Awesome Mommy I’ve seen, after mine. They’re already a team and I’m just a comic relief in their routine." Recently, in an interview with the Hindustan Times, Sumeet had talked about the journey of parenthood and had said, "So far, it has been good and lovely. My wife Ekta (Kaul) and I, are discovering something new every day. I’m still quite clueless and so is she. We don’t know what the baby really wants when he cries." Sumeet had further shared his wish of helping his baby boy in all aspects of life. He had stated, "I hope I’m well equipped to help him out when he comes to me to discuss anything — emotional, financial or anything else. Also, one thing that I’d like him to learn from me is to never give up in any situation in life."
It was on June 3, 2020, when Sumeet had shared the happy news of his baby's arrival on his Instagram handle. In an interview with the Mumbai Mirror, the actor had shared the reason why he had chosen Ved as his son's name. The Veere Di Wedding actor had stated, "Long ago, one of our relatives was having a child and we were discussing names, when Ved came up and stayed with me. I decided if I have a boy, I’ll name him Ved. Since we come from the line of, it makes sense."
