"My father and ex-husband always used to hurl insults and taunts my way for being overweight. It was really heartbreaking to have to go through this torment for years. That was when I decided that enough was enough. When I was undergoing the divorce proceedings, I started to focus on my overall health. I chose the path of fitness and health. Hence, in many ways, my divorce remains the turning point in my life where I got clarity about my weight and reclaimed my identity."
Speaking about the hurdles she faced, Suman Pahuja shared that the most hurtful thing was her father's inhumane behaviour towards her. According to Suman, he got her married at the age of 23, just because she was unemployed back then and was overweight. She had to face constant criticism, which made her lower her morale. However, Suman regained her power when the same insults were repeated, but that time from her ex-husband. She turned her biggest cheerleader as the biggest hurdles of her life didn't let her ignore her health, which she always focused on. And her never-give-up mentality took her to a place where she always wanted to be.
