Bollywood celeb couple, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s love story needs no introduction. The much-in-love couple has become the talk of the town as everyone is eagerly waiting for them to tie the knot. There are several reports about their wedding, and the pictures and videos shared by the paparazzi every other day are making us more excited. From R K house getting all decked up in lights to designer outfits arriving at their house for their wedding, every other day a new story makes the headline about their wedding.
Well, not just the millions of fans, Ranbir’s father, late Rishi Kapoor too was excited about his son’s wedding. Now, in an interview, filmmaker, Subhash Ghai recalled a conversation that he had with Rishi Kapoor about Ranbir and Alia's wedding. He revealed that the doting dad was planning for a grand wedding in December 2020. However, his dream couldn't get fulfilled as he had died due to cancer on April 30, 2020.

In an interview with the Bombay Times, Subhash Ghai opened up about his conversation with the actor, late Rishi Kapoor. The filmmaker revealed that when he had gone to meet Rishi Kapoor in January 2020, the latter had told him that he was planning for his son, Ranbir Kapoor's wedding to Alia Bhatt in December 2020. Adding that the wedding would be a grand one, Subhash said:
"I remember in January 2020, when I had gone to meet Rishi Kapoor at his home to invite him to receive WWI Maestro award 2020 at our annual convocation of Whistling Woods International. We had a long chat as good friends. He was so happy to share with me that they were planning his son Ranbir’s marriage with Alia in December 2020 in a big way. But he left us all with a deep grief suddenly."
Since rumour mills are churning new reports about Ranbir and Alia's wedding, we all are eagerly waiting for confirmation about the same. Further in the interview, Subhash Ghai mentioned that Rishi's dreams would finally be fulfilled as Ranbir and Alia are getting married very soon. Wishing Ranbir and Alia a happy married life, he said:
"Today, I am so happy that Ranbir and Alia are finally fulfilling his dream. I wish both a happy married life, the way I always did for Rishi and Neetu Kapoor."

Earlier, in a conversation with The Quint, Ranbir Kapoor’s mother, Neetu Kapoor had also talked about her husband, late Rishi Kapoor’s most cherished dreams. She had shared that he had wanted to see their son, Ranbir as a dulha and on a ghodi. Neetu had said:
“One was to see Ranbir wearing a turban with an emerald and a broach in the Peshawari tradition – astride a ghodi, on his wedding day. He was totally sentimental about this, he’d keep saying, “Kisi din, mujhe humaare bete ko ghodi pe sawaar dekhna hai.”
