Television actor, Sooraj Thapar and his wife, Dipti Dhyani Thapar's immense love for each other is setting pure couple goals. For the unversed, Sooraj has already shown his stellar performances in popular television shows such as Shaurya Aur Anokhi Ki Kahani, Akbar Ka Bal Birbal, Ishaaron Ishaaron Mein and many more. However, for the last few days, he has been hitting the headlines for his wife, Dipti's extra effort for him and his good health.
Sooraj Thapar and Dipti Dhyani had tied the knot in 2012, and the couple is blessed with two boys, seven-year-old, Vishvm and three-year-old, Naividyaa. The family of four were living the best of their lives, however, in 2021, Sooraj was affected by a severe COVID-19 infection, for which he was also admitted to ICU. Finally, after God's grace and immense efforts by the doctors, the actor had successfully come out as a fighter. However, during Sooraj's critical condition, his wife, Dipti, had then vowed to donate her hair to Tirupati Balaji. And since he had recovered from the disease, Dipti had recently shaved her hair and donated to the temple, and this had set pure goals for the millenials.

In an interview with the Etimes, Sooraj Thapar's doting wife, Dipti Dhyani Thapar opened up about her thoughts about shaving off her head. To this, she mentioned that the day her sons, Vishvm and Naividyaa saw her bald look for the first time, they were taken aback. However, soon after this, the two munchkins complimented her new look and this gave her confidence. She also mentioned that while she was about to do the action, she had never thought that this would become a topic of discussion, but now she is feeling blessed upon getting so much love from everyone. Talking about the same, Dipti said:
“I didn’t think about appreciation and acceptance while doing it. My sons (seven year-old Vishvm and three-year-old Naividyaa) were taken aback when they saw my bald look. They wondered ki mamma ko kya ho gaya. However, within a few days, they told me that I looked better this way than I did with long hair. I was happy as I was certain that if my sons had accepted me in my new look, others would, too. People from different walks of life have been appreciating the move and it has actually become a topic of discussion, which I hadn’t expected even in my wildest dreams. I did it for my husband and I am glad that I am being showered with love for it.”
Further in the interview, Dipti mentioned that while taking the tough decision, she had also consulted with her husband, Sooraj. And when she had finally shaved off her hair, Sooraj had complimented her that she looked prettier than before, this had boosted her inner strength. Talking about netizens calling her 'superstitious', she mentioned that she had done this for the love towards her husband and not to set any benchmark. In her words:
“Honestly, it wasn’t an easy decision. Just before I sat down to offer my hair, I asked Soorajji if we were really getting it done. He said, ‘ Ab chal gaya ustara(as razor is gone) and now there is no coming back’. When I looked in the mirror, I felt that I was getting ready to perform in a play (laughs!). Soorajji told me that I looked prettier than before. When your partner gives you so much love and respect, everything else ceases to matter. Many people have asked on my Instagram account that how I can be so superstitious. I want to tell them that I am not superstitious. When my husband was unwell (he was in the ICU after he tested positive for COVID-19 in May last year), all I could think of was how to save him. What I have done is for the love of my husband and the promise made to God. It wasn’t done to set any benchmark.”

For the unversed, Dipti Dhyani Thapar was also part of a few television shows such as Kairi-Rishta Khatta Meetha, Chhanchhan and others. However, after a sabbatical of 9 years, she is all set to make a comeback. Concluding the same conversation, Dipti explained that she felt liberated after seeing her new self and that she had already embraced her new look. And with her new avatar, if her fans find her enough to fit in her character, she is ready to make her comeback to television screens. Dipti concluded by saying:
“I feel liberated to defy these set beauty standards. When I saw my bald look, I realised that beauty can’t be defined by any one aspect of your physical appearance. It’s more within. That gave me a lot of confidence. Also, until I accept myself, how will others. I would have to accept myself first in my new look. Recently, I went to a party where everyone told me to wear a wig. But I am not going to hide my look, as I am not ashamed of it. I have embraced the new me and feel liberated. I am feeling good about myself. I was all set to return to acting but that has got delayed now for a few months. But if people find me fit enough to play a character that requires this look, I am willing to return to work immediately.”
