It was on May 08, 2018, when Sonam Kapoor had added 'Ahuja' to her name after tying the knot with her long-time boyfriend, Anand Ahuja. Since then, the couple's social media PDAs have consistently set the couple's goals. The doting bahu, Sonam Kapoor, is an absolute family girl and shares a warm bond with her in-laws. Being a social media butterfly, she keeps on sharing pictures with her parents and in-laws.
On September 10, 2019, Sonam Kapoor's father-in-law, Harish Ahuja, had turned 64, and his bahu, Sonam, had taken to her Instagram handle and had penned the sweetest wish for him. She had posted a picture of her father-in-law while he was cutting his birthday cake and, following this, a family picture from one of their vacations. Along with the pictures, Sonam had written:
"Happy happy birthday papa! Ever grateful for your wisdom and guidance. We all can learn so much from you. May you have the most amazing year and the best birthday. We love you! #64yearsyoung #harishahuja @anandahuja @priya.ahuja27 @priya27ahuja @ase_msb."

In a Times Of India report, Sonam Kapoor's father-in-law, Harish Ahuja, was duped over Rs. 27 crore in cyber fraud. According to the report, the Faridabad Deputy Commissioner of Police, Nitish Agarwal, mentioned that Harish's firm had been charged for manipulating the Rebate of State and Central Taxes and Levies licences. He also added that the firm made some fake transactions digitally and even got encashed while transferring them.
Further, Nitish Agarwal mentioned that they have been investing in the matter since a complaint regarding Sunil Ahuja's firm was launched in July 2021. Since then, they have arrested a total of nine accused from different places in the country, including Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Karnataka. The report concluded by mentioning that Sonam Kapoor's husband, Anand Ahuja, is a director in his father, Harish Ahuja's company, apart from running the fashion brand, Bhane, which was duped by the fraudsters.

In 2018, Sonam Kapoor was spotted along with her husband and in-laws while strolling in Notting Hill in the coolest London breezes. In the pictures that then surfaced on the internet, the family of four was dressed in black and grey and raised the family fashion goals high. And it seemed that London was their favourite holiday destination because Sonam and Anand had owned a home in Notting Hill itself. A media report in Pinkvilla had then quoted as:
"Sonam and Anand have bought a two bedroom apartment in Notting Hill. The couple will move to London soon after their wedding"
On February 27, 2022, Sonam had taken to her IG handle and had shared a couple of happy moments from her wedding ceremonies to mark her mom-in-law, Priya Ahuja's birthday. In one of the photos, Sonam could be seen posing with her mom-in-law, Priya smiling from ear to ear. In another, both of her in-laws could be seen, and in another picture, her cutest saasu maa was seen posing with her henna clad hands. Finally, in another photo, we could get a glimpse of a candid picture of her mother-in-law and her father-in-law. Sharing the photos, the actress had penned a heartmelting note for her mother-in-law, which can be read as:
"Happy happy birthday mom! Have the best year month and day! So blessed to have you in my life the positive , kind and open energy you give. Love you @priya27ahuja."
