Shark Tank India's judge and co-founder of BharatPe, Ashneer Grover is a very well-known name in the business world. One of the most popular sharks of the show, Ashneer had co-founded BharatPe in 2018 and had also invested in many start-ups. He has always garnered a lot of limelight for his controversies.
The business tycoon is in the news as he had recently resigned from his position after a clash with the board at BharatPe. As per multiple reports, Ashneer and his wife, Madhuri Jain were stripped from all the positions after an external audit revealed their financial misdeeds. It is stated that the duo had led a lavish lifestyle and often used the company's funds for the same. Ashneer and Madhuri are being investigated for mishandling the company's funds.

As per a report in Bloomberg, Ashneer and his wife, Madhuri's lifestyle had come under the radar after the couple had upgraded their house for a rented penthouse. The report further stated that Ashneer told the employees in the company that he had spent 130,000 dollars for a dining table, which when converted into Indian rupees comes to Rs 1 crore.
Apart from this, he had recently purchased a Porche and also owns multiple luxurious cars like Mercedes Maybach S650 worth Rs. 2.5 crore, Porsche Cayman, Mercedes Benz GLS350, and Audi A6. A few days back, BharatPe had released a statement, which could be read as:
"The Board will not allow the deplorable conduct of the Grover family to tarnish BharatPe’s reputation or that of its hard-working employees and world-class technology. As a result of his misdeeds, Mr. Grover is no longer an employee, a founder, or a director of the company."

A few days back, Ashneer had shared a picture to lash out at a statement that talked about his lavish lifestyle. The BharatPe co-founder shared the post to respond to the statement of his own company's board. He had taken to his LinkedIn profile and had shared a picture of a mattress put on the floor by his friend to show his bed for the night. Sharing the picture, he had penned a long note along with it that could be read as:
"I am appalled at the personal nature of the BharatPe Board's statement, but not surprised. It comes from a position of personal hatred and low thinking. I think the Board needs to be reminded of $1M of secondary shares investors bought from me in Series C, $2.5M in Series D and $8.5M in Series E. I would also want to learn who among Amarchand, PWC and A and M has started doing audit on 'lavishness' of one's lifestyle."
He had further mentioned in the caption that the only lavish thing about him is his dreams and ability to achieve them with all his hard work and determination. He had written:
"The only thing lavish about me is my dreams and ability to achieve them against all odds through hard work and enterprise. I hope the Board can get back to working soon - I as a shareholder am worried about the value destruction. I wish the Company and the Board a speedy recovery. Please get back to your actual day jobs."
