For the unversed, Sonam is expecting her second child with her husband, Anand Ahuja. The couple is already parents to a son named Vayu Kapoor Ahuja. According to multiple reports, Sonam’s family hosted a baby shower for her on February 8, 2026. Several celebrities, including Kareena Kapoor Khan, Bhumi Pednekar, Khushi Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, and Shabana Azmi, were in attendance.

On February 8, 2026, mom-to-be, Sonam Kapoor took to her Instagram Stories and shared some adorable snaps from her baby shower. The pictures were all things wholesome. She looked beautiful in a lime green lehenga featuring floral embroidery. She tied her hair in a neat bun and accessorised with a heavy necklace, earrings, and bangles. She beamed in joy and flaunted her full-grown baby bump.

When Sonam Kapoor revealed that she was expecting her second child

On November 20, 2025, Sonam took to her Instagram handle and revealed that she was expecting her second child. She was seen wearing a magenta outfit and kept the announcement simple. She captioned the post, "Mother". Many celebs, including Parineeti and Sidharth Malhotra, congratulated her. Parineeti wrote, "Congrats mamacitaaa." Sidharth commented, "Congratulations, you both. Love to the whole family."

When Sonam Kapoor revealed that becoming a mom was a magical moment in her life

At a 2023 event in Mumbai, Sonam opened up about her feelings when she embraced motherhood for the first time. For the unversed, Sonam welcomed her first child, a son, Vayu Kapoor Ahuja, in 2022. She called the moment magical. The Neerja actress shared that she held Vayu in her arms; it was one of the best things that happened in her life. She mentioned how her husband stayed by her side when she delivered their first baby. She was quoted as saying:

"When I delivered my baby and he was in my arms, it was one of the best things I felt. There is a feeling of euphoria. I had a natural birth and it was the most amazing moment. My husband was next to me and the doctor who helped me deliver the baby was my mother’s close friend. I had the people who love me around me — my parents, my sister, my in-laws. It was just the best moment of my life. It is really life changing when you give birth to a child."

Once in an interview with Filmfare, Sonam shared how she met her now-husband, Anand. She mentioned it was her friends, who tried to set her up with Anand’s best friend. However, she ended up talking to Anand. She added that one day, Anand asked her out. Recalling the moment, Sonam shared:

"My friends were trying to set me up with Anand’s best friend. The first time I met Anand was while I was busy with the promotions of Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (2015). One evening my friends conned me into visiting a bar at the Taj. I saw Anand and his friend. Then one day I got a Facebook request from Anand saying, 'Hey! Are you still single?' Two weeks later, we were talking on the phone when I asked him, 'Do you still want me to talk to your friend?' He said, 'No, No! Not at all. Talk to me. I’m keeping you for myself.'"

The couple tied the knot on May 8, 2018. After 4 years of marital bliss, the duo embraced parenthood for the first time. They welcomed their first child, a son, Vayu on August 20, 2022. The couple completed 7 beautiful years of their marriage on May 8, 2022.
