Sonam Kapoor has finally entered the new phase of her life. Sonam walked down the aisle with her boyfriend, Anand Ahuja today on May 8, 2018, in an Anand Karaj ritual. The wedding festivities kickstarted at Anil Kapoor’s residence on May 6, 2018, with the mehendi function and it was followed by a mehendi ceremony on May 7, 2018. Bride Sonam Kapoor and groom Anand Ahuja danced their heart out at the mehendi function. The lovebirds were looking every bit of royal in Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla couture. While Sonam was the epitome of besotted beauty, her then hubby-to-be complemented her quite well. Sonam wore an ivory and gold lehenga which she paired with the high-neck heavily embroidered cap sleeves muted gold blouse and a matching dupatta. She further accessorised her braided low bun with a maang teeka, jadau neckpiece, jhumkas and a bracelet. Anand looked dapper in an ivory white kurta which he layered with a Nehru collar sleeveless jacket, adding an emerald brooch to it.
On her mehendi ceremony, which took place last night (May 7, 2018), Sonam Kapoor danced on her song Tareefan from Veere Di Wedding and she looked pretty excited on her special day. While she was dancing solo on the stage, everyone including Sonam was pulling off her then hubby-to-be to come on the stage to dance with her. Check out their video here:
In other videos which were streaming online, Sonam finally managed to get Anand on the dance floor and groove with her. The couple can be seen dancing on the track, Cheap Thrills and seized a moment to snuggle each other. Sonam undoubtedly rocked the dance floor at her mehendi and so does her guests, who danced till the dropped. We also came across a video in which Sonam’s Veere Di Wedding co-star, Shikha Talsania, Karisma Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez, Varun Dhawan grooved on Tareefan. It was a helluva night! Putting end to all the speculations, Kapoor and Ahuja families released a statement about Sonam and Anand’s wedding. It stated, "From the Kapoor & Ahuja families, The Kapoor & Ahuja families, take great joy and pride, in announcing the marriage of Sonam & Anand. The wedding will take place on the 8th of May in Mumbai. Since it is an intimate affair, we request you to respect the family's need for privacy. Thank you for all your blessings and love, as we celebrate this special moment in our lives. Thanks & Regards." Sonam and Anand shared a thank you card for all the guests who came all way long to be a part of their special day. The message on the card could be read as, "It's a great joy to love & be loved! Dear Family and Friends, we are delighted to have you here as an integral part of our wedding celebration. We are blessed to have each of you in our lives and feel honoured that you have travelled miles to be with us! We hope you your stay and make memories of a lifetime... Love & Luck, Ahuja & Kapoor Families."
