Vakratund mahakaay, surykoti samaprabha, Nirvighnam kurumedev, sarwkaaryeshu sarwada, Sukh karta dukh-harta, Warta vighnachi, Noorvi poorvi prem krupya jayanchi, Sarwangi sundar utishendu rachi, Kanthi jhalke maad mukhta padhanchi…” The entire nation (especially Maharashtra) is crooning their voices for melodious, energetic and much-loved Ganpati aarti as everyone is celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi with all dhoom-dhaam and shor-sharaaba. So is the case with one of the finest Bollywood actresses, Sonali Bendre!

Along with the same, she expressed her sadness on not being a part of the celebrations last year in 2018 due to her cancer treatment and how excited she is on being a part of the fun this time. Sonali wrote, “Ganesh Chaturthi is one of my favourite festivals and I really missed celebrating it at home last year. Was part of the Aarti via FaceTime! I'm so glad to be back this year, healthier and stronger, celebrating with my family.”
She further penned, “I truly believe if there’s faith, it reflects more on the inside. In the dialogue between you and your God. So, don't lose that essence. Once again, we’ve taken the route of bringing an eco-friendly Ganesha & we’ll also immerse the Lord in our home. May this Ganesh Chaturthi bring health, happiness and new beginnings to everyone, and may we all have the strength to overcome the obstacles that come our way.” (Also Read: Bruna Abdullah Of 'I Hate Love Story' Fame Shares The Picture Of Her New born Baby Girl)

Last year, on September 13, 2018, which happened to be Ganesh Chaturthi, Sonali had taken to social media to express her grief about not being a part of the celebrations. Sonali, being a Maharashtrian, loves this festival and it holds a special place in her heart. She had then posted the following pictures of the celebrations that had taken place at home, and had written this along with the same, “#GaneshChaturthi has always been very very close to my heart. Missing the celebrations back home, but still feeling blessed. Have a happy one, filled with blessings, love and joy!” (Checkout: Ridhi Dogra Celebrated 'Raqesh Bapat Day' Post Separation On His Birthday, Shared An Array Of Wishes)
On December 2, 2018, Sonali had taken to her official Instagram handle after being back in Mumbai and had written a long note about her cancer journey. Sharing the below post, she had penned about her fight with cancer, “They say "Distance makes the heart grow fonder". It sure does. But let's never underestimate what distance teaches you. Being away from home in the city of New York, I realized I was walking amongst so many stories. Each trying to write their own chapter in different ways. Each struggling to do it but never giving up. Each taking it #OneDayAtATime.”
She had further gone on to write, “And now I'm on my way back to where my heart is. It's a feeling I can't describe in words but I'm going to try - it's the joy to see my family and friends again, the excitement to do what I love and mainly the gratitude for the journey I've had up until this moment. The fight is not yet over, but I'm happy and looking forward to this happy interval :) It's time to learn that there is a new normal out there and I can't wait to embrace it and #SwitchOnTheSunshine. #NowPlaying #AdventureOfALifeTime.
